l love melted Brie cheese with crackers, fruit, and as a beautiful appetizer. l put a dab of butter, spread on top of Brie round, then put Brown sugar, and Pecans, putting in Microwave to heat, no more than 40 seconds. A delicious and pretty Appetizers. My go to brand for Brie cheese.
I love Brie and Camembert but only when they are young and solid( well within date). The older is gets, it starts to age which means soften to the point of being runny and VERY PUNGENT. A true connoisseur likes it that way, but i dont. And most American cheese is tasteless and has lousy texture. i noticed that Marketside has a camembert but i wouldn't let a walmart shopper select it for me because i dont think it sells as well as the Brie which means i could get one very aged and, just like the brie, i want it young.
It's impossible to describe Brie cheese, but it's really good! It has a buttery, mushroomy, nutty flavor. It's been one of my guilty pleasures for many years. F.Y.I. I order my groceries twice a month. I did a comparison between Walmart and two of the major chains...I save up to $120 on every full order I buy at Walmart .
I decided to try a recipe on Christmas. It was baked Brie with Peach jam and Brie with Raspberry jam. They both turned out really good! The Brie tasted just like what a friend had made years ago. It was warm and gooey and so good with both toppings that I couldn't decide which tasted better. My company loved them both also. I don't think I would use any other Brie cheese when I make Baked Brie again. I highly recommend this Brand of Brie cheese. Although, I will either trim the coating off or try to buy it without the coating. That is simply a preference of mine.
You must acquire a taste for its moldy rind which is not easy to get even after a few tries, although the cheese part is wonderful, creamy and buttery, and has a delicate, subtle flavor, a typical French greatness. If not for the rind it will be a top rated product.
Sadly, when you order online you can't see what you get. Hot or miss. fresh, I love this cheese, but as it gets old, it gets a very strong, unpleasant taste and the outside gets hard and changes color. Sadly, it is continued to be sold that way. In store, I squeeze the edge and know if it's fresh in that wrapper or not :-(
Walmart delivery shoppers appear to deliberately select items very close to expiration date. Product not fresh. Only days from expiring. Tastes like ammonia. President brand Brie often has this spoiled, ammonia flavor. Never again.
I am extremely disappointed with Walmart’s delivery service. I placed an order expecting the same quality I usually find in-store, but what I received was far from satisfactory. The products delivered were not only the worst items they had on their shelves but also included expired items. Receiving expired goods is simply unacceptable. It’s a serious health risk, and it shows a lack of care and oversight in their delivery process. Additionally, the quality of the items was noticeably inferior, with damaged packaging and items that seemed to be close to expiration. As a loyal customer, I expected better from Walmart. This experience has made me rethink my trust in their delivery service. I hope they address these issues promptly to prevent other customers from having a similar experience. For now, I will be looking elsewhere for my grocery needs.
I love Brie and have purchased this brand for years. Last week it was included in my grocery delivery. I was looking forward to having it as dessert with the grapes I purchased. The rind on Brie is supposed to be white. I opened and unwrapped the package and found the entire rind had a brown hue and a horrible smell! I am not one to complain but in today's economy every penny counts. Spending $5 on something you can't eat is disappointing. I wish I could upload a picture to show how horrible it was.
This cheese was bought through delivery service on April 26. It had expired April 1st. Absolutely disgusting. I might understand some being expired by a day or two but 26 days? How does that even happen? And then to have a shopper pick it up off the shelf without checking the date is inexcusable. This isn't the first time I've had rotten food delivered by Walmart either. It's getting tiresome.
