This is quite awesome! It looks like a cooler but is actually a great slow cooker! It is powered by electricity but after you turn it off and go off with your cooked meal, it keeps it hot for hours without plugging back in! I use it to take chili and love it! The crock part is metal and removes for cleaning it is a rectangular shape which is nice and the 8 quart is the one I recommend. Love this!
Love how the lid lifts and stays with product....no more messing around with trying to hold a dripping lid while you scoop out the food. I carries easier than other crock pots. The serving spoon fits and holds place on top of slow cooker and you can write what is in the cooker on the front. comes apart for easy washing. GREAT product all around
Works like the crockpot it is. I love all of the features, whiteboard, retractable cord and that it's a lot cooler than my metal ones (think handwarmer). No more negotiating hot pot in car, or worrying about tripping on a cord! I Love that it's so portable! Some reviewers (low reviews here and on another site), said it didn't get hot enough, so I tested it. In under a couple of hours it was at 200 deg. F. The depth is 3.5 inches to the max line and interior of the pan is 8.5 x 10.5. Perfect for my husband and I or a family of 4 meal. Will be perfect for pot lucks. One thing to note (I called Presto customer service to confirm), they recommend you keep the lid 'not' locked while cooking, down and in back of the unit. I was worried it might not retain heat - but it did :-) I learned that all crock pots should not have the lids locked during cooking (my Crockpot brand is too hot, which is why I was replacing it), now I know why! I always lock the lid during cooking. I had also purchased the 8qt. to replace my larger 'too hot' crockpot. But now I'm going to return it because this one will meet our needs and knowing why, I'll keep my older, larger one as well. If I need to transport anything, I'll use this one! Pics are not very clear, sorry I had to reduce the size so much to add. Crock is larger than it looks, tape measure is showing 3.5 inches to max fill line, thermometer reads 200.8 deg F on High setting. I don't know if this is the max temp., it was exactly what I needed. If I was cooking meat, I'd probably put it on low for longer since I don't know of any meat I'd heat above 165. One more thing, I don't use nonstick because of teflon etc. being toxic. This is touted as 'non stick' and that concerned me. It's listed as 'enamel' in the manual and online. I feel better about that! But, it still will require 'gentle' utensils to not scratch.
I absolutely love my travel slow cooker I would recommend it to everyone it's so much better taking this to a gathering then a regular slow cooker. This locks down nicely and doesn't leak durning travel highly recommended
love the look. the design and profomance!
I have not used it yet, but I plan on it real soon. We are always going on picnics and reunions, so I know it is going to come in handy soon.
This is the best idea ever! It makes travelling with a slow cooker so much easier. Now all my coworkers want one too.
Love it!! Its light and easy to carry. Only drawback is it seems the high doesnt get as hot as it should and I wished it had a timer. Other than those 2 things its the best purchase ive made in awhile. My new fav kitchen toy.
8 qt slow cooker with warm, low and hi settings and lockable lid works well for me. No more messes while transporting your favorite dish to your next potluck. The lid locks and seals well. Warm draws ~35 watts, low ~220 and hi ~250 (ac not dc power) they recommend against running it in your car and most cars cant handle more than a 120 watt power inverter without direct wiring anyway. Having said that Im sure it could keep a hot meal plenty warm for awhile with the lid in the locked position
shipped on time. pleased with item.
