I vaguely remember this appliance being hugely popular in the 70s or 80s with the frozen pizza crowd then reading the rave reviews posted elsewhere from owners who purchased one at that time, the earlier model, of course. Same same. Theirs are still running strong some 50 years later! Not only that, but my gas utility bill was outrageous (understatement) and I'm cutting back on using gas. This baby is all electric, cooks most things in under 20 minutes, no preheating whatsoever. Solid built, heavy duty. Heating elements top and bottom. Top element reaches 500 degrees, bottom, 350. Though temperatures cannot be adjusted, there's the switch for using top or bottom separately or dual (both). A separate knob controls the timer. It takes a little while to figure it out, maybe a day using it, but it's super easy and fun. Comes with a 12" flat metal pan that's not teflon coated but use silicon utensils anyways and don't cut anything on it; wash gently by hand with a sponge to make this investment last. Has a peg line-up on the reverse to attach which can be tricky so take your time with this. To turn off, rotate knob on top to zero and unplug. Doesn't take long to cool down and main unit doesn't take up much space on the counter, about the size of a toaster. All that said, cooking on the Presto Pizzazz Plus shouldn't be used for anything that splatters like frying meats or poultry. No soups or things in a bowl. Someone uses it to make quiche in an aluminum pie plate. Others bake cookies, rolls, anything that doesn't have a height to interfere with the top element. Pancakes, nachos, gyoza, ravioli, french fries, open faced sandwiches, grilled cheese... the list goes on. Get creative! Very super happy with my purchase! Go Presto!
I thought it could have been packaged better. But it wasn't damaged even though the box had a dent on one end. Hope it lasts 25 years like our old one!
First, you pull it out of the box and think...hmm...really? This thing is gonna cook a pizza? Some people complained of the crust not being cooked enough, so we turned the lower level on for 4 mins then switched to dual setting. The pizza was DELICIOUS! Better than having been cooked in an oven. Highly recommend.
I purchased thinking mmm can this really cook a frozen pizza ? Well I SWEAR it does to perfection . I love this machine so much I bought my son one for Christmas as he loved mine. Honestly the self rising pizzas on this machine are better than ordering a pizza .
I had an earlier model of this deice that I used for many years with total satisfaction. She finally stopped working a few years ago. I gave it little thought until a few weeks ago when I thought I'd check to see if such a machine was still available. there it was, bigger and better than before. ordered it right away. It's like having an old friend back in the kitchen. The difference between old and new: New can do grilled sandwiches, omelets, and lots of other stuff. Glad to have the convenience of this machine again. A bit more expensive, quite a bit actually, but so is everything else. I personally rate this item A++
I bought Presto Pizzazz Pizza Oven 20 years ago for $50. and it finally stopped working in November 2016. I've used it for pizza, garlic toast, French fries & other frozen items. Great for summer use as it's a countertop appliance that won't heat up the house. I'd be extremely pleased if this new one lasts as long as the first one did. Makes store bought frozen pizzas nearly as good as a pizzeria ones without having to leave home!
Obviously this oven works great for frozen pizzas but it works perfectly for so many more foods. I've used it for fish sticks, tator tots, garlic breads, brat/hot dogs, pre-cut cookie dough and so much more. Very useful cooking device for the warm weather months instead of warming up your whole kitchen/apartment/house!! Very useful while camping, traveling etc!
Nice shirt bu shipping sucks was delivered to wrong address and they had to go get so it was a couple days late and I wanted it for a special occasion. It didn't make it in time
Beware: do not use store brand self-rising pizza. (Booklet has info on this.) We accidently grabbed a store brand instead of a name brand. The crust was terrible no matter what I did. Then we tried a name brand self-rising. When it finished baking at the recommended time, I set it to bake the crust for about an extra 4 minutes to get the crispier crust that we prefer. It couldn't have been any better if baked in the oven. It's really a great product making it possible to make our own pizza in the summer without heating up the whole house. The only minus is that it doesn't have an off switch. I hope this product holds up for a while so we can get our money's worth.
My order came a lot faster than I expected, but I received it with a large gouge down the length of one side of the box. There's even a large chunk missing out of the styrofoam inside the box. Luckily, it's on a side of the box that left the item itself untouched, but it would've definitely been damaged had the box been damaged on the opposite side. This is being presented as a Christmas gift to my grandmother, so the damage to the box is very disappointing. I would absolutely recommend this item, but would suggest finding a different seller/shipper.
