This is so cute! Its a good size, I was surprised. it comes with a cutting board, rolling pin, measuring spoons, measuring cup, mixing bowl, knife, serving spoon, cookie cut outs pie server, loaf of bread and a pie. The pie comes in 3 pieces and is color coded to match the color of the fruit that goes in that part of the pie. I got it for my 2 year old but my 8 year old is just as infatuated with it!. The cookie cut out teach shapes, the loaf of bread comes apart in to three slices, the egg is my favorite lol. The shell actually comes apart and there is an egg inside! The rolling pin actually rolls and the measuring spoons are real measurements, I compared the capacity with my real measuring spoon and its the same. This is well worth it, very cute, fun and colorful. it really keeps their attention and is pretty realistic as far as kids food toys go.
Awwwwwww! I love this little set. It just the cutest. Ok, one of the cutest. My absolute favorite part of this set is the Velcro sections if the loaf of bread & the strawberry. They made the the strawberry with Velcro in order to give a whole plump strawberry fir the strawberry pie section. There's an apple slice for the apple section of the pie & a peach slice for the peach section of the pie. In case u haven't figured it out, it's a whole pie done in thirds with different fruit flavors with coordinating colors of the pie slice. This is a set for learning math in my opinion as well as different foods, colors & shapes. Fractions is the type of math indicated with this set. GREAT learning tool. I think. Back to the strawberry...the two parts are because ( I think) realistically a strawberry is much smaller than the aforementioned fruits & needs a wee bit more amplification to get the point across of equality. Now, myyyyyyyyyyyy favorite part of the set is the Velcro! When the bread slices are together, the form a loaf. An course the 2 halves of berry make a whole one. Now the fun! The knife included is used to cut thru the berry & the bread when "Velcro-ed" together. I LOVE IT! When u slice down the the pieces where the the Velcro parts meet, it sounds like you're really slicing thru some crusty bread or a fresh crisp strawberry if you're using a sawing cutting motion. U gingerly hold the squishy bread as with a real loaf & slice. Same with the strawberry. That's just genius to me. It gives a little resistance to strengthen muscles & dexterity. The set even comes with a measuring cup with numbers on it. There's a rolling pin to roll over the cookie shapes which is the cookie dough as if you're really making cookies. There are 4 different shapes of cookies along with the different colors. The cookie cutter has a suction cup the stabilize the press of the cookie cut out. The egg is a bit cumbersome to assemble in order to "crack open". One side is double layered. That's just awkward. I kept trying to pull the double side apart because it just seems like it shouldn't be there. My guess is that the double layer is to mimic the "cracking of the egg". It's excellent for kids ( & ok, me too ). I had so much fun trying this out with the baby with it. She loves it. The price is a whole different story, it is a bit too expensive with a toy like this. U can buy a plastic dollar store measuring cup with numbers on it. I say that to say that around $30 or so is a bit much for but I still recommend it & give it five stars because of the aforementioned reasons above. Try it with your little bakers. Ready, set.......learn! Psst...& have fun. :-)
I was pleasantly surprised when we received this product for my 2 year old daughter. There are a lot of pieces in the set so she has plenty to play with and doesn't get bored with it easily. The pieces themselves are made of thick durable plastic that seem to hold up well to everday play. The colors are bright and bold and not overly girly, both my older nephews play with the set when they come over. The "cut out" cookies and dough are cute and simulate real cookies and dough. She loves "rolling" the dough with her rolling pin and making cookies. She also loves "cracking" the egg into her mixing bowl and "mixing" stuff just like mommy does. The pie sections open up to reveal the type fruit the pie is made from and allow the child to remove the fruit for further imaginative play. Given the quality of the bakery set and the amount of pieces included, I would definately say you get a lot for your money. In my opinion the set is well worth the money spent and will hopefully last through many years of kitchen playtime.
I got the pots and pans set from this same manufacturer, and this set is just as good. Sturdy pieces, not the thin plastic that gets brittle and breaks easily. Lots of pieces, dishes, pans, baked goods etc. No little parts that can be swallowed or come off easily as far as I can tell. The colors are bright and most of the pieces actually look like the real thing. My 3-year-old granddaughter will love this, she loves the pots and pans also and this is just something else that she can play with in her play kitchen - and it will make her more interested in helping out mom in the kitchen. I would recommend this Play Bakery Set to any parent or grandparent looking for a quality item for a child, boy or girl. I really can't think of any cons or negative comments to make about this product. Sorry no photos, working on getting a digital camera so I can take some pictures.
This will make a Great Chef for new Beginners,They can learn how to do Recipes and Bake Cookies and other Food Items. They can be very Creativite
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best play set EVER. It is so versatile and there are many ways to use it. I use it for speech therapy and there are so many language concepts you can target.
Oh My God.......Gave it to my grandniece who just got a Kitchen set for the holidays and she LOVED it. This product was made perfectly well for a 3 year old. Parents should really consider getting this product for their child. They are very well entertained with this product and really enjoy it.
This is a phenomenal beginner's play baking set, and my 15 month old and I have loved playing with it so far! Though my child is still a little young, it has been a pleasure to play with the different pieces and I know that it will only improve as they get older. The set comes with a ton of different pieces (please see the picture attached or read the description), but I wanted to highlight some of our favorites: (1) The egg! The shell is two pieces that you can "crack" open to reveal a sunny-side up egg inside. Very cute, nice texture, and my child adored this part of the set probably the most of anything. It has been fun for my little one to practice "cracking" the shell in order to reveal the egg inside. (2) The loaf of bread - it is a nice squishy texture and comes with three velcroed pieces. You can use the play knife (included) to "slice" the bread and then serve it, which my child has loved practicing. It's a great way to teach safe knife use, too! (3) The cookie dough / cookies / rolling pin / tray - It has been very fun practicing rolling out the dough on the tray, and then using a small suction-cup tool (included) to take the cookies out of the dough. It works on multiple levels - not only is it fun to practice the process of making cookies from scratch, but my child also enjoys putting the cookies back into the shapes cut out in the dough, like a puzzle. (4) The pie - The pie comes in 3 separate "slices" that make up a whole pie (what a great way to teach fractions!). Each pie piece has a removable lid, and inside is the "fruit" of which each slice is made - apple, strawberry, and peach (these pieces are small, so be wary when playing with little ones). (5) Everything else! - The mixing bowl, the measuring spoons, the spoon, the measuring cup, the pie server - all are great ways to teach kids the basic fundamentals of measuring, preparing, and baking in the kitchen. They're brightly colored and very sturdy. A lot of fun! My only qualm with the set is that the velcro on one of the strawberry halves ripped off the first time we tried to pull them apart from each other (they fit together to make a whole strawberry). That was a bit of a bummer, but nothing a little glue can't fix! It is a great set and I would definitely recommend this to others. I know that Learning Resources has other kitchen-themed toy sets as well, which we will definitely be looking into in the future.
This set comes with 31 pieces to play with in durable plastic. This includes cookie tray, cookie dough(plastic), rolling pin, mixing bowl(big size), rolling pin, fruit filling pieces with pie, crackable egg with yolk that slides out. This is fun filled bakery play set which my child enjoys using mixing bowl, baking cookies & taking the cookies out with a suction holder(provided in the set). This is ideal size for little hands & my preschooler loves this learning resource set. The most fun part of this set which my kid loves is the crackling egg with yolk sliding out but it is very hard for the kid to stuff the yolk back inside the egg & close it. I can stuff it inside & it closes but the yolk doesn't stay flat when it comes out again & hard to close well too. Also the yolk needs to be pulled out & won't flow freely out by itself. This is not a very good part of the set though was interesting concept. I have this toy more than a week now & my child has learnt to stuff the yolk inside egg too. Other thing my kid loves is cutting the bread & strawberry slice of the pie. It is wonderfully made with velcro & using the play knife the child can cut & can hear sound while cutting which is really fun. As part of learning, the kids can learn cookie shapes & colors, the pie has fruit pieces & co-ordinating colors to match as well. Overall this is surely fun bakery play set for kids to enjoy & I would recommend it.
Another good product of Learning Resources for ages 3 and up the “Pretend and Play Bakery” set. This colorful set comes with 31 pieces plastic toy like a real one it's easy to use and even my 10 year old daughter played with it and she really enjoyed playing it with my other 8 year old daughter. The plastic toys are easy to clean and wash, the quality is quite good soft and no sharp edges and the size is acceptable according to age group. It's easy to use like the real one it encourages kids to simulate actual baking scenario that make them excited and pretend like a real chef so it builds creativity, sharing, and sense of responsibility. Even my wife loves to play with them and teach them on how to use and prepare things like that which serves as good quality time with them. On the other hand my kids wish there were some extra spoon, plates and ingredients comes in a play box like sugar, flour and other stuff to make their moment complete. The rolling pin is not rolling like the real one and the egg is hard to put back into the shell. Other than that they love playing with it, I definitely recommend this to a friends and relatives.
