[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love board games so we were excited to play clued junior. This version is great as it has 2 games in 1. We played both and found the rules easy to follow. The equipment included is high quality and the board is double sized too. The playground mystery suggests working as a team to find the answer but we also played independently. The children liked finding the objects on the well decorated tiles and this reminded us a bit of dobble. A perfect game for children aged 4 plus. Lots of fun and we enjoyed solving the mysteries.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always loved playing the Adult game for many years now and wanted my little boy to have the same fun as I did so when I said they did a junior version of Cluedo I just had to get it for him, he loves playing it and we both have lots of fun with it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my 6 year old cousin as she loves a board game and it didn't disappoint. There's actually 2 different games the playground mix up and the science lab mystery so it's really good value and great fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fun game, it's easy to use to easy to put everything together and has two different sides for two different games one is for younger children, me and my 6 year old played the older side very without any issues. Overall good quality and good fun, it includes everything you need.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the perfect chance for younger children to play the investigative Cluedo. My daughters are 9 and 7 years old and have tried to play the older version with us in the past but struggled a little to keep up. This is fantastic for them, they've played this game probably every other day since we got it. After I set it up and explained the rules the first time, they were able to do it by themselves afterwards. I love that there are two different sides/games for different ages/abilities. My daughters have enjoyed playing both equally.
The game arrived quickly, but it was advertised as The Mystery Of The Missing Cake and I was sent The Mystery Of The Broken Toy instead
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very cute game with very simple instructions to follow. There are two ways to play the game, depending upon a child's age and skill level- so you really get two games in one! My 6-year-old wanted to play and is still learning about board games. I liked the option for beginner players because you play as a “team” so there are no winners or losers. It's fun to work together to use the “clues” to solve the game. Each player (up to six players) takes turns moving around the board and turning over cards to look for clues and to figure out who put an item in their backpack by mistake. The set up for the game is easy and quick. The board itself is also easy to navigate and the game pieces are just the right size for little hands. The colors of the board and the included cards are bright and cheery, making the game even more appealing. On your turn, you pick up a card with pictures on it and try to identify which of those pictures matches a picture on your detective notepad sheet. When I pick out board games, I like to see how the game can teach more than just the intended outcome. We have used this game to help my son learn to write and spell new words, make sentences, and describe different objects. This game is great for vocabulary building. We are planning to try out level 2 of the game soon. For level 2, each player works independently to figure out who set off a volcano in the science lab. I love this game and we have added it to our rotation on family game nights. We can't wait to play again soon!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 2 boys aged 11 and 8 they can play this for hours, it's fun and addicting, it can be a little confusing for them but once they get going they're in their element! Instead of the standard you have 3 items to discover and its who ate the cake. (Obviously for kids) it runs in 24 hour times so if your child doesn't know 24 hours then it'll definitely be hard. 8/10
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a cute twist on the original game. You have to try to figure out who set off the science-experiment volcano and made a mess. You need to solve who did it, what they used to make the mess, and which class they were playing hooky from when they did it. Our new game came missing the volcano itself, so I printed one out. The first time we played my kids had about 7 billion questions about how they were supposed to arrive at the final guess. It was a little chaotic, but it got much better after the first time we solved the mystery. I think it dawned on them how all of the pieces of information fit into a solid conclusion, or at least a good guess. There were some frustrations with the game. Our volcano was absent from the game, so I don't know if having that piece would have made any of these other items easier. The second thing was that the clues were on the bottom of game pieces and in the joie de combat excitement, many pieces were knocked over and clues were exposed. This happened all throughout the game. My kids are 11 & 7 and they'd get excited, or would just plow ahead and knock stuff over and accidentally expose a clue. We decided to just make that a fun thing instead of getting upset about it. The game board ripped when we were trying to fold it up. It got bent the wrong way briefly and it ripped very easily. Luckily it was still attached at one point, but since it was our first time using the board it was sad. Lastly, we found some of the instructions confusing and I couldn't figure out if it's because I was unintentionally filtering them through my knowledge of how the regular game of Clue worked, or if they were truly lacking in better detail, but I found myself reading and re-reading the instructions all throughout the game and still feeling unprepared to answer all the questions my kids had. The positives: we loved actually playing the game. The kids thought it was fun and a neat idea. There's a bonus game on the back that helps kids with memory: finding which playground items are missing. That's cute too. Once we got the through several rounds of the game it was more fast-paced and exciting.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the concept of being able to switch between two levels of difficulty. Having children at different ages can sometimes be tricky to have a game that all can be involved in. This did take some time to get the hang of it. But it was enjoyed by all. Worth it if your a family game night type of family.
