I do like this brand and Salami, but 50% of the time, the Salami is aged or oxidized, which not only makes it look discolored, but also hurts the flavor profile. Overall, if Walmart provided consistent, good, and quality cuts, I would have given this 5 stars. However, my Walmart store has been inconsistent with quality for this particular cut of meat. If your Walmart has a good Deli department, I would give this a 5/5.
The cold cuts from Walmart are always cut too thick. The baby swiss cheese I order is always too thick. The salami I received today is too thick. Walmart needs have the workers in this department cut their cold cuts at a normal %231 size. It is the laziness of the cold cut workers that create thick slices so they do not have to work too hard. It is their job to at least provide average normal slices. Cheese needs paper in between each slice so they do not stick and clump together.
Whenever I order deli meat and cheese, they send the thickest slices so a half pound is 6 slices. Who eats deli meats and cheeses that thick? I have a small child who can't chew through those monster thick slices. I end up wasting it because I don't want my kid to choke. I use delivery services because I have work and extra curricular activities with my kids. Use some common sense when slicing deli food. Don't be lazy and slice it thick so you can be done with it!
The last three times I have ordered this. The Walmart associate has not bothered to take the plastic off of the salami when cutting it. There are bits of plastic on each slice of meat. This last time the salami arrived wrapped in paper, not even in a bag. There was not a sticker or anything to keep the salami closed or know the weight and cost of it. I was very disappointed!
I am tired of buying this lunch meat from Walmart. It is getting a cheaper flavor, and the deli dept. has no idea how to slice lunchmeat, online you cannot ask for the thinness of the meat, and they slice it like a thick piece of trash. I will never buy this meat from them again and if you read this do not buy!!!!
Will never order any deli meat or cheese from Walmart again to be delivered, or otherwise. Ordered a half pound to make sandwiches. Deli clerk sliced this into thick SLABS that one could only cut into chucks to be edible, as opposed to a thiness fit to make sandwiches with, which is what I paid and ordered it for as anyone does unless they specifically request slabs and that can only be done in person. I ordered this for delivery. Had I been in person and they tried to pull this I'd have left it there and been irritated they were intentionally ignorant and lazy wasting my time and moved on. As it is I would have to take time out of an already busy day to travel 14 miles round trip to return this to the store and probably have to wait in a line for refund that would cost far more than the $5 I paid for this bad joke. Either incompetent or lazy or both because slicing a half pound of any deli meat or cheese into chunk slabs is less work than setting the slicer guage to a sandwich slices thinness, because that would mean having to run it through the electric slicer considerably more times. Probably take an entire minute to fill the order, ouch! Next they'll just whack a whole solid chunk off of the whole whatever, not slicing it at all, throw it into a deli bag for the next customer that has the audacity to order SANDWICH meats from their deli.
This is the second time I've ordered genoa/salami and you dropped the ball both times!!! Second time you sliced the meat so thick it was unchewable in a sandwich. Only laziness/hurriedness could be the reason. Too time consuming to cut it thin. UNACCEPTABLE!
I don't recommend any meets from the daily department at walmart.Because they slice the meat very thick. They don't have the option to make it thin.Otherwise, the meats are good, but not when they make it.And when they cut it so thick, it's ridiculous, wish they had an option
Whoever sliced this salami sliced it way too thick. I rim never ordering cold cuts again. Laziness. It was cut so thick so that person didn't have to take the extra time to slice it correctly.. salami is supposed to be sliced v thin. No one wants to eat it a quarter inch thick.
According to the website it should have been an entire pound not only was I not given even a quarter of a pound (0.3) to be exact. I was given 5 pieces of 1/4 "THICK chunks of salami I mean if you're gonna make a sandwich who in the world makes a sandwich with 1/4 inch thick slice of salami it's insane nevertheless where'd the pound go and why did I only get 1/4 I needed the whole pound the whole point of a pickup water was to avoid going out to Walmart but now I still have to go to make sure that I get the proper salami needed to make sandwiches for the week
