Purchased this one after looking at many and reading so many reviews. This is a very nice cooler. The cold water is cold, I like refridgerated water and this is just as cold. The water flow is fast. I have had coolers where the water takes forever, this one does not. It is a little short, I do have it on a block of wood, but otherwise a great purchase.
More uses then drinking water, using the hot water is great for things like instant mash potato's, instant oatmeal, hot chocolate, tea, broth even soups. It saves a lot of time as far as heating up water.Makes a better pot of coffee. No water bottles to return and for us, we found getting Culliegan to deliver the 5 gal jugs right to our door is a few cents cheaper then getting Primo water jugs locally.
My girlfriends family refuses to drink the tap water in our area, although safe and occasionally cold. For years they had been refilling the 10gallon water jugs (that could be delivered for a monthly fee) at local stores and pouring them into a "Gatorade/water dispenser" that sports teams tend to dump on their coaches. I purchased this as a gift and they couldn't have been happier. The water is cold/hot, and I had no issues with bad taste that other people seemed to speak of. I assume it depends on the kind of water you put in the machine, but I purchased the 2yr replacement for $19 just in case anything breaks or stops working properly. Had it for three weeks and no issues. The bottom loading version is less messy, when putting refilled (open) bottles, but after the second or third try on this top loading one, you get the hang of it and have minimal mess. A towel around the top seems to help keep what little splashing that occurs tamed.
I bought this to replace my old Sunbeam water dispenser. So far I really it, it's a little smaller than my old one, it's shorter and also slimmer. It runs very quietly so I don't even know it's heating or cooling whereas my old one was so loud that you could hear it in the next room. The Primo has the energy star logo on it so I am hoping it will be more energy efficient. I feel my old one was using alot of electricity because it seemed to be running all the time and noisy, this new one is quiet and the heating/cooling indicator lights turn off in a short time so it is not constanly wasting energy. The water comes out hot and the cold water is cold, the water comes out at a good speed. It also has a night light so you can see where the spout is even when the room is dark. I really like it, I do not know how long lasting it will be since I only just got it. I also really like that it's black and brushed metal, it fits my kitchen decor.
Cooler setup was simple. Good cold water and hot. Hot water is hot enough for tea. Cold water is as cold as from the frig. Only downside for me, was in the packing. The cooler look worn, as the box appeared to cause the foam to rub against the cooler leaving an abrasion on the black finish.
I spent a lot of time researching to make sure I got a water cooler that would provide nice, cold water and wouldn't leak! Researched online and in-store. Granted it's not iceberg-cold like the glass pitcher out of the fridge, but it's nice cold water. I went with the top load probably illogically, just because I couldn't imagine the bottom-load working as well. It still looks sleek and it's fairly easy to load - honestly moving around a 5-gallon at floor-level sounds worse for my back anyway. Lastly, the center spout is nice. One place where the water comes out, whether you're having a glass of water or making tea. Very happy with my choice after one month!
Keeps water cold and it's quite. The one feature I like most is the water release buttons are across the top of the machaine-no handles to hold and maybe get broken and best of all my 2 year old grand-daughter can't figure out how the water comes into the cup. Advantage is there's no waste. It doesn't take up much space in the kitchen and I think it's the perfect height, for both loading and using.
Product runs well and quietly (compared to some other reviews) although had it for a couple of weeks as of this review. Was considering a bottom-load unit but settled with this, and am pleased with cold & hot water on the spot. Not sure entirely what the middle button's function is for, though.
It's smaller than I thought it would be but it works. The first day I wasn't sure if I liked it because even after letting it sit for a while, the icy cold wasn't icy cold and the hot wasn't hot at all. The next day and so on it has been working great though. I really like that I don't have to take off the whole lid on the water bottle. I can just peel the sticker off and put it on, thanks to the no spill feature.
Cooler arrived very quickly after ordering. It's smaller than my last one. The water dispenser is low. I'm bending over more and will put the cooler on blocks to raise it up. The cold water is not real cold. We haven't used the hot water yet. Very easy set up.
