I use these for marathon training long runs. I have tried many different gels and chews and these are the best I have found so far. They taste good and are not too sour, I wish they would leave out the citric acid, it really burns my teeth and gums, although when running hard it is actually difficult to taste anything, but I do get hints of fun flavors from these.
I think the challenge is finding something that I will not choke on and that breaks down in my mouth quickly and does not get caught between my teeth and gum line.
So I would prefer if these were softer and larger, but some softer chews are coated with sugar and/or stick in the bag and are annoying to get out while running because they are all clumped together, so these donx27;t do that too much, and that is a big plus.
A no waste re-sealable bag would be great but then again, if it obstructs the chew from sliding out easily, that would be worse, fighting with the bag while racing is a mental strain that will make me opt to not eat at all-- I try to remember to open these in advance, that way there is no chance that I will litter the piece of the bag I tear off, or tear off too much and they fall out.
The main things I would change about these is that I would make them bigger and softer, that way I get more to chew on, it is harder to accidentally start to swallow one and get it caught in my throat, and I do not have to eat so many to get the calories I need while running.
