I bought this because I have had one before, and it is useful to have in emergencies, or when taking along a big saw or powered chainsaw just isn't practical. It folds up very small and goes in a pouch that can be put in a glove box, or even your pocket. And yes... this does work, but you have to put a lot of effort into it. It's not powered in any way. You will use your arm muscles and upper body strength to pull the chain back and forth until it cuts all the way through the limb. As such, it is not for everybody... if you don't like using non-powered hand tools, you won't like this. This works from the sharpness of the teeth on the chain, and the back-and-forth motion provided by your hands and arms, as well as you pulling up or towards you depending on the way you are cutting. It is not super quick either... it depends on how fast you saw, and the thickness of what you are cutting. Also, this is not a high-dollar item, so it is not going to cut down a forest... the teeth are going to eventually get dull, and how fast that happens depends on how hard the wood is of what you are cutting. When the teeth get so dull that you can't cut anymore, you dispose of it and get a new one. In other words... this item is not meant to be used for daily cutting chores... more like emergency situations or when a regular saw or chainsaw is impractical. You can keep one of these in your vehicle so that if you are driving in a storm, and are stopped by a big limb laying across the road, and it is too big to drag out of the way, you have a means to cut it up and then drag the pieces out of the way and continue on with your journey. As such, I do recommend keeping one in a vehicle at all times.
Good for the price! Handle is easy to grab and does the job,
I used it once and dulled so quickly it couldn't cut through a two inch limb. I would have skipped this if I knew.
this product does no work properly and it is hard too use.
