After many years my cinch was wearing out. Purchased the Pro Choice Fleece cinch. I love how it absorbs sweat and is soft against my horse. I'm convinced he likes it too!
I love these girths. They looked good and the wool portion can be easily removed from the cinch to wash. Cleans up great! I have two to rotate so I can keep the wool nice and clean.
fits really well. The only thing I would change is that I can't use the buckle. I have to wrap the belt and I don't feel like I can cinch it tight enough.
I bought this because I wanted a cinch where my mare is protected from the rings and the ease of removing the fleece to clean. Don't need to cinch up as tight as the fleece helps keep the saddle in place. I like a cinch with a keeper for the off billet. It's a little stiff due to the nylon but not enough to cause any problems. Also was able to get in a size 26" for my little 13.2 mare.
I have a very sensitive mare that pryer to me obviously was overly cinched and hurt. I have been working with her with this cinch and so much better. No more trying to bite or kick when I am cinching. This is a very nice product and seems to fit true to size.
I wanted to change out my cinch and researched this cinch - it has been great! After first ride super soaked and dirty- easy to remove- I threw in the washing machine dried in the sun, looked great reattached to cinch perfectly! Hardware is heavy duty. Highly recommend!
I bought this as an in between size cinch as all I seemed to have was pony or draft size. I am very pleased with it quality wise—buckles lay nice and flat, and horses have no complaints. It does not slip on a very rolly poly mare. I actually prefer it to a Professional's Choice Ventech cinch I have. Seems softer for the horse. This cinch was assembled in Mexico, not the USA.
I have quite the cinch collection! You might say it is an obsession. I have anatomical cinches/shoulder relief, neoprene cinches, wool cinches, and mohair/alpaca cinches. The Professional's Choice SMx Comfort Merino Wool Western Cinch is by far my favorite wool cinch! Professional's Choice never fails to disappoint. Their products are fantastic. I love this wool cinch. The liner is 100% Merino wool and is moisture-wicking. It is soft for my horse, it cleans really easy, and is at a reasonable price point. The buckle-system comes off of the fleece with velcro, making it super easy to clean. Although they recommend hand or hose washing, I have machine washed on delicate and air-dried. The roller bar on the mounting side of the cinch makes it easier to cinch the saddle, and the overlapping fleece keeps the metal from rubbing the sides of my horse. That roller help get that cinch snug without much effort and no worry about pinching my horse. My first fleece cinch has lasted for close to 3 years, and I'm still using it without a problem although I have purchased a replacement as a spare. I was going to get a different wool cinch costing considerably more. However, I ordered this one and I am very pleased.
I bought my first cinch a year ago It cleans up well in a bit of wool lite and luke warm water Then hang it up to dry overnight My horse loves it in hot or in cold weather I just had to buy one more
Never had problem with Professional Choice products before. But Smartpak must have gotten a bad batch. The first one I received had 6 inch rough spot in the fleece so I called and it was replaced quickly by Smartpak. The 2nd also had a smaller rough flaw in the fleece. I needed the girth and didn't have time for another replacement so I shaved the spot out myself to keep from rubbing my horse and will have to purchase another one to replace it now
