I've always loved Progessso's Cickarena soup but lately it tastes even better. Very thick and savory. I'm not too keen on the slimy little meatballs though. My mother used to make a soup similar to this with real little meatballs . I have a difficult time finding it in the grocery store. Walmart always has it at a fair price with great delivery
This is a really delicious soup. It has chicken broth and chicken pieces then they put in small meatballs made out of turkey and pork. They put in lots of tiny noodles. The soup will fill you up. One serving is half a can. A can has about 280 calories. I put a few crackers on top for crunch. The soup and broth have a good flavor so I ordered it again. I cooked it on the stove top until it was steaming hot.
This has become a classic soup over time, and while it appears to have a bit less chicken and a bit more water than in years past, overall it's still quite good.
(Gave 3stars for delivery) ordered “progresso homestyle chicken with vegetables and Pastini pasta”, not this progresso Chickarina soup. I don't eat pork and pork is in the ingredients.. was going to keep it, but noticed it pork😞 in the recipe. Will request a refund
This used to be my favorite soup. The pearl pasta was perfectly al dente, the broth was clear and flavorful, with plenty of tiny meatballs, chicken, carrots and celery. Some time ago I assume they changed the recipe - the pasta is now mushy, the broth is cloudy and bland, and the other ingredients scarce. At first I thought it was just a bad batch, but future orders months apart were the same. Such a shame - guess I'll need to find a new favorite soup :(
I'm a long-time buyer of Progresso soups, but this is the first time I had Chickarina and it will be the last! The turkey/pork meatballs tasted like wet cardboard. No flavor whatsoever, not even parsley. The soup itself was watery and oily. If you like chicken soup I suggest you try one of the other kinds of Progresso as they are very good, but stay away from the Chickarina!
just when theydeliver that they don't put in a spot so i can't open the door but to the other side of the door opening then i could open the door to get my order just don't stick it so i can't open the door because where they put it i have to go out my garage to walk around and get the order from where they put it not good.. they forget the door is hard to open when the sack is blocking the entryway into the house. very not convient on where they put the sack
I've eaten this soup for years, but this is awful now. The meatballs are much smaller. The broth is slimy tasting. The pearl pasta has been replaced with stars. I will not buy this again!
I ordered spit pea with ham and got this I don't like it and would of never ordered this I'm very disappointed always getting What I didn't order and that was my dinner for tonight not very happy
Rather bland, sans-chicken flavored soup with too many star shaped noodles, tiny meat balls that are pork a Turkey, only a couple pieces of chicken. It is just down there with Campbell's Chicken Noodle slop. Not recommended.
