Progresso Italian Style Bread Crumbs Canister (15 oz)

I used this to make cheese sticks, TGI Fridays style. Got a block of Mozzarella cheese and cut it into about 1/4" strips. Dunk them into egg/milk then into batter. Put them in freezer for about an hour and repeat. Freeze again for about 2 hours and they're ready to fry.

The Progresso company has never disappointed me when it comes to quality or taste. I'm a fussy cook. I also read the labels carefully. The sodium content maybe a little high, however I also consider the sugars ratio. As the sugars are so low , I use less salt in cooking. Thank you Progresso for an excellent product .

My grandmother always used these particular bread crumbs. I fell in love with the flavor as a child and is my "go to" as an adult. It is preseasoned and has a delicious flavor. Great for breading meats and veggies, on top of casseroles and in meatloaf and meatballs. It is a fine bread crumb. Easy to use. Affordable on a family budget!

I use these bread crumbs to flavor as well as create cling to buttered dish for my CHEESE SOUFFLE to rise high. DELISH!!! Creates a yummy crusty side.

Without a doubt, these are the best Italian breadcrumbs I've ever used. I am originally from Massachusetts, and this was our go-to breadcrumbs for meatballs, meatloaf, breading eggplant, chicken, and cube steaks. The consistency is perfect with just the right amount of seasoning. When I moved out of state and a store did not carry these breadcrumbs, I would have my family in Massachusetts send them to me via US mail! If you haven't tried these breadcrumbs, I urge you to do so soon! You won't regret it, and you too may feel moved to share your love of these Progresso Italian Style breadcrumbs in an online review.

I recently bought an off brand and in pouring the remains of this into it noted that this brand had a lot more added dried herbs so, although I do not know, I suspect that there will NOT be the good flavor I'm used to with this product.

Why did progresso change the breadcrumbs? The bread is more like panko now. I used this particular brand and flavor all the time in the past, but that was when they were normal breadcrumbs. The “light and airy” texture of this new bread changes the entire experience. I am not a fan at all. Totally disappointed. I guess I will either buy another brand or make my own in the future. I will not be buying these again.
