I'm a Senior Citizen and have enjoyed video games on the PC for years. Wanted to try something new with PS3. I didn't know it had so many different [optional] components but that was part of my learning curve. I was totally unfamiliar with the regular controller's "buttons" and such but am up to speed now. Acquired the Move Racing Wheel (for N4S HP) and it added quite a different dimension. Acquired an add'l motion controller and Eye Camera to work with Tennis and Boxing. This was an excellent purchase and I only regret I didn't do it sooner. This PS3 was sold at a very good price and was delivered earlier than expected. Very Pleased.
Great price, fast shipping, excellent product. The Ps3 might not be the latest and greatest newest system out but it is still very relevant. It plays Ps1 games, cds, dvds and blueray, and they are still making ps3 games as of today. It's like three things in one just can't go wrong. And this system especially has tons of storage. My one complaint would be it only comes with one controller and it's not easy to find a second official Sony controller, way too many knockoffs out there and maybe the on screen keyboard on the system is a pain to use, besides that it's an excellent system with a sleek and compact design just can't go wrong.
It's a pleasure having a new Playstation 3 console, and nothing beats an authentic Sony controller. I was looking on eBay for an affordable 2nd machine, and once you add it all up (used console, controller, shipping), Walmart's price is only a few dollars more. Since Walmart dropped the price to $149, it made sense to buy the brand new console. Another benefit was the store shipping and warranty. I was able to pick it up the next day, and the process went smoothly.
I already had a PS3 and wanted another. The order online and pick up in store process went very smoothly. The PS3 was in perfect condition with all accessories and paperwork included.
My new PlayStation 3 is better than the old machine. This one has a disk reader that I can access by opening a sliding door. the other was an auto-feed machine. My daughter stuck something in it and it no longer worked. At least I can see what goes onto this drive.
I've waited a while to get this, but couldn't pass up the great deal I was offered here! I know the PS3 isn't the newest model, but I works perfectly and fits my needs! It's a perfect and convenient way to have your games, movies and TV apps all in one place! I do not regret this purchase at all!
I was forced to buy this PS3 when my original fat PS3 died a few months back. The system works fine and is much less heavy than the originals but I also think the design is much uglier. Now to the tech. I was disappointed to see how long the load times were with the newer, supposedly faster system and the disk tray built into the top/front of the system. This means now instead of pushing the disk into a slit we have regressed back to ps1 days and have to open up the top of the console, place the disk inside, and close it again. The whole thing is clunky and awkward. It also makes a LOT of noise while reading the disk which the original never did and it gets quite annoying. Also, as we know, the new systems are not backwards compatible. HUGE negative for me. I also have noticed that it has more trouble reading disks if the disk is even slightly dirty. Any console cannot read a disk or will skip or cut out a lot if your game disk is really filthy or smudged or scratched. But even a small amount of dust or fingerprints, with no scratches anywhere, is enough for the system to not read the disk at all. I do however like the light weight and extra space that the newer systems offer, as well as the dualshock 3 controllers that come with them these days, as opposed to the less heavy but non-vibrating sixaxis controllers that came with the original ps3s at launch, and all at a much lower price than ever before. I haven't noticed a difference in sound or graphic quality in this system, nor load times, but input responses are faster, sharper, and the gameplay runs much smoother, seems to respond much smoother and seemlessly. I do not like that it has so few options for audio and video ports to connect, and the measly TWO USB ports in the front. All in all I think the system has everything necessary for a pleasant gaming experience and for less picky casual players it will do just fine, but for a more picky person looking for an excellent machine, this version of the PS3 leaves something to be desired. I would strongly recommend to others, as well as still prefer myself, the original fat PS3. But this system nonetheless is still worth owning and gets the job done with a few downsides but rarely many significant problems.
I received my console a few days ago. I played a game on the first night and everything seemed fine. A few days later, I played the console again and my games keep freezing up, the tv screen turns black and the disc which doesn't have any scratches on it won't play unless I restart the console. I will send the console back to walmart for a new one. I hope that the new one won't have the same issues.
We received a used console and the distributor- Worldwide refuses to let us return it. I would not purchase from this company. We were originally told we could not return it for any reason, then once we told them it appeared used they said they would not take it back since we took it out of the box. Very bad customer service and not consistent!
Ordered a new PS3 on Walmart site but was shipped from a secondary vendor. Hooked up the system with a brand new game and nothing. Game wasn't recognized , it didn't even spin when inserted. System was broken. Trying to contact the vendor for a refund was like pulling teeth. Email address they gave was invalid and phone number when I called the mailbox was full. Terrible all around! Walmart can you please just carry the PS3 again !!
