PS3 Air Cooler Intec

I have a PS3 that would skip half way through the movies. Now it is perfect. What a great product!! Well worth the little noise.

The package says for PS3, it probably does work great for the 80gb and 60gb units, but it won't fit the 40gb because connectors are in different spots. I wish I had known this before I purchased this product.

The air cooler does help cool the system more than nothing at all. You do have to manually turn on the fans and the unit does hinder plugging in the HDMI and Optical cables. The unit is also pretty quit. Overall, I wish it would have been able to turn on with a tempature setting or something similar, but it still is worth getting to prolong the life of the system, especially if you are going to be using your PS3 continously for great length's of time.

These intercoolers are junk and will eventually fry your ps3. Trust me it fryed mine. at first they work good but after a while the fans start to fail and actually begin to restrict airflow and cause the ps3 to run very hot. i was also told by a sony rep that these intercoolers fry the ps3.

I hope in the future the makers of this product indicate in their advertisements that this is not made for the 40GB PS3. what a waste of my time. It covers up the plugs in the back where it is intended to fit, whereas the illustration on the instructions shows the plugs on the other side of the back end of the PS3. Must be for the 60 or 80GB, of which there is no indication of when viewing this product by itself. Buyer beware.

I found this product to be really helpful. My PS3 would freeze-up every once in awhile and now it doesn't even do it. I have a 40g and it fits just fine. What you have to do is you plug in everything, and then you put the intercooler on. I tried putting the intercooler on first, and it didn't work.

When i first bought and installed this product it worked great then a weak later it started to rattle a little so i put a small rag under the ps3 and it went away. About a week later it started making a real loud noise prior to me turning on my ps3, so after that i let my ps3 run for a little while and then turned it on. After that the noise would go away so i assume that the motors needed a little heat to warm up the oil in them since doing that it has given me no problems at all and my games and movies no longer freeze up. This intercooler is the best one ive found and ive had two other brands so get it and follow those easy steps and u should be good. ENJOY

This product is actually pretty pathetic. I bought it because I had a gift card. The fans on it are about as useful as a garden hose at a house fire. If anything, it restricted the PS3's breathing abilities. Anybody thinking of buying this cooler would probably be better off putting your PS3 on it's side and in a well vented area.

Folks don't bother with this one. Poor design through and through. Conflicts with cables, fans are weak, doesn't form to the chassis well (this drops the performance of ventilation, which is the whole point!) It barely pulled any air out of the system. I almost thought it was more of a bother to have it attached. I ended up buying a AC to DC adapter to plug into it and turned it up to either 7.5v or 9v (i forgot which) The adapter for it only gives it 5v. Increasing the power made a big difference. And it doesn't seem to be too big of a increase in power. Works stead after hours of play. But still, physical design is flawed, fans used are cheap (a blade broke off one which through it off balance and made plenty of noise. had to break another blade to balance it), and it just doesn't pull enough heat out of the system to make a great difference. They one review here about skipping in movies was more likely fixed by a system update than this junky cooling fan set. Before you buy this, try giving the system room for better airflow. Get it out of that little cubby hole and into a wide, open space. it's claustrophobic, you know.

love it keeps my ps3 very cool only one problam have to turn on and off 1 or 2 time when first turn on makes loud whinding noise but then it fine. but over all love it it will fit a 80 GB system.
