I can't say that an external fan system is necessary. I mostly got it for the controller charging stations. It was hard to find one because I prefer to keep the ps5 horizontal. It works well as a charger and a fan.

It Is A Christmas Gift For My Son Haven't Opened It Yet.But The Reason I Purchased It Because It Is Small And Compact And Fits The Needs In Terms Of Space.

Awesome and easy to install

it works great for charging 2 controllers. there is a fan, but i do not think it cools the ps5, it does cool the external hard drives i use. one for movies and one for games. once the assembly is completed, you'll see the fan snaps into the ps5 and it looks OK

fits great and works like it should

it doesnt fit as well as picture made me believe. it allows me to lay my ps5 down which is great. and the 2 charging ports are nice. however the super bright lights aon there are bad in a room where you are trying to sleep. fan doeant move a lot of ain. and the noise it a bit loud. the middle of stand is very flimsy. i thought i was about to break it putting it together
