Cost per serving is 13.5 cents. Lowest cost per ounce that I could find. On the day of my order the 10 pound bag was $20 cheaper than Amazon. This is a 454 day supply for one person and it was delivered factory fresh with an expiration date three years out. I love the product and it has ended 20 years of suffering by bringing stability to my gut. Bowel movements are effortless and predictable. My current dosage (180 pound man) is 2 teaspoon fulls, twice a day, after a meal. I mix it with warm or hot water and it dissolves in less than five seconds with no clumping. It is also completely tasteless going down, but it does have an odd slippery texture that takes a little bit of getting used to. I like the whole husk version and I'm going to stick with it instead of the powder. I do not know if the whole husk variety can be used in baking since it is a much coarser product. Shipped within a week and well packaged.
I'm so glad I ordered this large of a container, now I'll be set for quite a while. Shipped super quick too!
Item was delivered wothout any problems. I use this fiber daily to keep my digestive system regular, it makes the elimination process much easier. My daughter in law mixes this with their border Collies homemade diet to keep the dogs bowel movements more solid and the dog has had less gas issues since adding this fiber to her meals. Great product and much cheaper to buy in bulk for our purposes.
Great for digestive health really noticeable in a few days. Hard to mix with water and not the best taste but worth it with how well it works. I opted for the 10lb bag since its a better value and now take daily, for sure recommend.
Purchased the Whole Psyllium Husks, Organic for my dog. He was emaciated and had been having loose and liquid stools since adoption from a shelter. Many Vet visits, testing and medications to no avail. Many food protein allergies and after endless food trials of high quality food, I found one that he could tolerate without scratching himself endlessly, but the poops were only mushy soft and frequent. So a new med was started which helped his gut feel better, but the stools were still a mushy soft. So, I purchased the Organic Whole Psyllium Husks after reading several posts on a IBS dog forum. Have been giving him 1/2 tsp in the morning only sprinkled in one spot on his food and finally formed poops and he now poops only two-three times a day!! I'm happy, my dog is happy!!
Getting enough fiber in one's diet is tough because to do it with just one's regular food tends to make me gain weight. Psyllium Husk is PURE fiber, with ABSOLUTELY no food value, so there's no weight gain. Getting it in a 10 lb bag also eliminates having to deal a bunch of 12 oz containers.
I received what I expected, as listed on the sale listing, and the order was processed promptly %26 packaged securely. I like the NOW Foods whole husks, having been using them daily, mixed in morning fruit juices, for many years. NOW has been reliable in product consistency %26 tends to have sellers you can find that offer competitive value deals on them; this 10lb package was the first I'd bought at that volume (been buying 2 1lb packs), but makes for a nifty per lb savings (and we have the storage space open).
Helpful keeping my family regular.
Product does what is intended. Actually does a great job at that. I'm happy with the purchase over the overpriced alternative, MetaMucil Product that has tons of additives like sugar and orange food coloring. The active main ingredient is what you are purchasing with this product and NOW Foods offers in many sizes and packaging. Retailers sell to Walmart and prices only gets better. However, the whole husk does not dissolve very well and clumps up. Maybe I'll try the powder next time.
Very coarsely ground, did not control my blood sugar nearly as well as the powder previously utilized, taking it back or throwing it away, as it just doesn't affect absorbing like the powder does perfectly.
