I've used a competitor brand my entire adulthood and while we were buying filters my husband picked this pitcher up and asked if could try a new brand. I agreed and we've had this pitcher for about a month now. It's definitely faster than the other brand! I fill gallon jugs (I pour the water into the jug from the pitcher) for my husband to take to his job and no more taking what seemed to be forever doing so. The water also tastes way cleaner than I've ever experienced with the other brand. Our old pitcher also splashed water when we were pouring it out but this pitcher has a nice flow. Good pitcher! I'm happy we switched.
A little overwhelmed with so many steps to set it up, but once I got through them, I'm enjoying better tasting water. Easily fits in refrigerator, but sits on counter. Not a cold water fan. I live in a studio, so the thumb print is small. As opposed of larger units at a much higher price.
water does taste clean and fresh after filtering. slow filtering but worth the wait. I kept the water pitcher from another brand so I pour the already filtered water into one pitcher and have water filtering in the Pur pitcher. I always have plenty of fresh clean tasting water for making coffee and tea and for cooking. this 7 cup pitcher is great for one or two people but I would recommend a larger one for a family.
I received the Pur Max Ion 7 cup water pitcher as part of Walmart’s Spark Reviewer Program. It is a small pitcher; less than a half a gallon. Since it is small it doesn’t take up a-lot of counter space. I was using another brand and the pitcher was 2.5 gallons. It was taking up counter space and we weren’t using it that much so the water would sit there for days. This Pur pitcher is perfect for filling the coffee brewer in the morning. We can fill the coffee machine directly from the pitcher. The lid does not come off which was a concern of mine. The fact that it is small it gets filled more often so the water is fresh. It fits under the faucet with no issues. The filter is easy to prepare. Just soak it in cold water for 15 minutes. Rinse the filter for 10 seconds and your good to go. They give a filter chart so you remember to change it every 2 months. The filter reduces 22 contaminants. I purchased 3 replacement filters for 15.00!!! They also make a filter that will reduce lead further if you desire to buy that. This pitcher is great for small households. It’s great to take camping because it is so small. The possibilities are endless. I am now using this as my water pitcher instead of the large pitcher I was using before.
I first purchased this pitcher 5 years ago and it worked great. It wore out and I purchased the 11 cup one in May of this year. It only lasted until November. It started cracking almost immediately. I think 11 cups of water were too much for the handle to carry. Now I purchased this one and it has been working great. It fills faster and is light and easy to carry.
Assuming that there is truth in advertising, I love the clear, non-chemicalized water. The only thing I don't like about it is the lid and pour spout. The lid just sits on top allowing water to be released from the sides when it is tipped for pouring, spilling some water on the counter instead of in the glass/cup. I have to remove the lid to avoid the mess. If you pour slowly the water runs down the side of the pitcher instead of in the cup. The picture on the box is misleading.
PUR Ultimate 7-Cup Pitcher, PPT700W Just having this pitcher for just about 2-weeks, I have noticed I am drinking more plain water. The water comes out crystal clear, and tstes great, no more bad tasting water. This is real important to me since I have health conditions that require me to watch goes through my kidneys. It is a good feeling that so many chemicals are no longer in my drinking water. One filter lasts up to 2-months/or 640 8 oz. glasses of water[I try to get 8/8-oz. glasses per day. + cooking, since I am single should last me about 2.5 months. The one thing I do not like is it takes several minutes to go through the filter, I can deal with that. To completly fill the pitcher you have to fill the top and then wait before you can finish filling to the 7-cup capacity. I would rather have one with more capacity, so I do not have to refill so often, as I like my water ice cold straight from the refrigerator. and it takes time to get my water to a preferred temperature. Since I received free to give an unbiased review. I will probably go buy one with a larger capacity. So I can go several days without refilling,.
I love the fact that I can just fill the top of this with tap water and in seconds I have great tasting water. The filter is a little big but it does catch unwanted additives and the water afterwards tastes great. I almost cant keep it full because everyone uses it so much here in the family. I like the taste and the fact that you don't have to wait long for it to fill up. I would recommend this and also buy it for gifts!
Following the directions, I washed the pitcher with warm soapy water, soaked the filter in cold tap water for 15 minutes, drained it, ran cold water in it for 10 seconds. I then placed the "date/calendar" sticker on the outside of the pitcher, and put the re-usable indicator stickers on top of the correct months, to show when the filter was first used, and when it should be changed. Then I filled the pitcher with water, it takes 2-3 minutes to fill the container, it runs slowly, into the bottom of the pitcher, this is the filter at work doing its thing to remove all the impurities from the water, the pitcher holds 7, 8oz cups of water, the filter will clean 40 gallons of water, with 2 months use. I put it in the fridge overnight, along with a glass of tap water so I could see if there was a difference. The next morning, there was no difference of taste or smell. The filter is supposed to remove 96% Mercury, 95% of industrial pollutants, and reduces the taste and odor of chlorine. It is certified to remove 2x more contaminants than Brita filters, so this is what makes me want to continue using it. Slight design flaw, the lid does not snap in place, it just sits on top, and will fall off when you are pouring out the last of the water into your glass, so you will need to hold with one hand, and while pouring.
The old model 7 cup pitcher has a bigger (blue) reservoir. You have to fill this one several times before you filter enough water to fill it. It dribbles when pouring, which the old model does not. It still uses the great filter, which is why I bought it. The filter is better than Brita's. The pitcher plastic is thinner and cheaper looking than the old model. They should bring the old pitcher back. This is not an improvement. I only recommend it because it filters better than Brita.
