Exactly what we expected. Good reviews lead to this purchase. Creates warmth in a large 600 sq ft room. Nothing fancy %26 looks real. Crackle sound is less than realistic, but we don't care.

Delivered quick. Easy to unpack. Plug and Play. It fit perfect into an existing fireplace. The original insert broke. It looks great, feels and sounds real. This is for my apartment in Santa Monica. I have Cabin in Big Bear and thinking about putting one of these there too. No more wood to buy or fireplace to clean. Highly recommend!

I never write reveiws but so impressed with this unit I felt it was necessary in this case. Our old gas fireplace, that we seldom used, broke down. Repair parts were either not available or very expensive. Local fireplace technician recommended electric. Went to their shop...very expensive units. Looked online, saw reviews on the Puraflame and decided to take a chance. Package arrived quickly and was very well packed. Had to do some modifications to the sheet metal of the old fireplace but the unit fit like a glove. Appears to be a solid and very well constructed unit. Works as advertised, nice fire effect and love the crackling sound.

great for the cold season. This just makes the house feel more comfty and welcoming to my visitors. I like having this on when it's a movie night. Best part is that i can control this and the temperature all with a remote.

I live in a very old farmhouse and one of the things I regretted most about it was that the fireplace it has is too old to be trusted. I was incredibly disappointed when the chimney sweep I hired got done with his inspection and told me that lighting a fire in it would be the worst idea ever.. the chimney, 200 years old, couldn't take it. So for years I have stared at that useless hole in the wall pretending to be a fireplace. I'd thought about gas logs. I even had one of those electric fireplaces that fits inside it. Nothing came close to looking like I really wanted it to look - until I found this. Puraflame has gone out of their way to make this insert look and feel just like a real fire... the heater unit works perfectly and isn't obtrusive, the flame effect is realistic (amazingly so, the logs glow like real embers and the lighting effects are wonderful. And if you *really* want to convince people it's a real fireplace, put a screen in front of it (I have a stained glass fireplace screen - the flickering flames from the insert are incredibly convincing.) Turn on the crackling sound, light a wood candle and you're all set. It was very easy to install - just slipped into place. Absolutely wonderful - I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
