It's food grade citric acid. Not much to say about it. It's just like any other brand of citric acid but with a more affordable price point. I use it to descale my water distiller. It'll descale any appliance that boils water. The residue left behind by boiling hard water can ruin the effectiveness of that item. And the scale doesn't wash off or loosen in soaking, no matter how hard you scrub or with what. One can purchase products specifically label as descaler, but they are quite pricey, and their active ingredient is plain old citric acid. Citric acid is much cheaper, and this brand is as good as any other. Just more affordable, as I said.

I ordered this citric acid to make a homemade solution for the rinse cycle. (Look up Downy Rinse %26 Refresh - citric acid is the active ingredient). 1 t. per cup of water (1 T. if you have hard water). Use in Downy Ball or softener compartment. This brand was the best price per oz I could find and will last a long time. It could also be used for food purposes but this is what I am using it for. It also is the main ingredient in Lemi Shine.

I used it in cleaning my toilet and it did a fantastic job. I just poured it in and left it for hours and it cleaned it really well
