Trustworthy Tried %26 True Nutrition

Angela June 20, 2026

I've been feeding my dogs Purina Dog Chow for quite a while, and I've been very pleased with the results. My dogs enjoy the taste, maintain a healthy weight, and have plenty of energy throughout the day. Their coats look shiny, and they've had no digestive issues while on this food. I also appreciate that it's affordable and easy to find in local stores. For dog owners looking for a dependable, budget-friendly food that their pets actually enjoy, Purina Dog Chow has been a great choice.

Yellow Lab tested (and approved!)

BES February 22, 2026

We've used this exact dog food since day one with our puppy, he's always liked it. He's now 11 years old and still likes it! Walmart sometimes has it on sale, which is nice bc we buy the big bags. We've never had a problem with food quality, and the bag it comes in is sturdy.

Our mixed lab has been eating Purina since a puppy. She is 15 years old now and in good health for her age. My vet said to keep giving her the Purina Dog chow as Purina has been around for a long time. I do now mix in about a 5th of a can of canned dog food with some warm water has her teeth are not in good shape. My sons dogs have started eating it as well and they love it .

I've tried giving my dogs other brands and they don't accept them . I give it to them with chicken broth and shredded chicken thigh . I have 10 dogs so I have to make it that way so the bag can last for a week. I love my dogs so I try my best to feed them well.

You honestly can't beat it

Amanda May 16, 2026

Like everything in life now, dog food prices are absolutely insane. I am not only responsible for my dog and his needs, but my roommate's dogs (yes, plural 😭) so five in total. My boy happens to be gigantic so he requires a lot of kibble and the rest are medium-large sized with the last one being a Chihuahua. They're all quite picky, you'd think they were born and raised in Beverly Hills with their refined palates so it's a struggle to say the least finding one they'll all eat. Kibble taste aside, I normally add a topper like albacore, shredded boiled chicken breast, rice, just to mix it up for them and make their diet a little less monotonous. The majority of their diet, however, is kibble. For the longest I was buying Purina One True Instinct for them because it was one they all loved and ate with no problem. Also, when researching good dog food brands Purina was always near the top of the list. Recently, though, I've had to start purchasing a more affordable kibble and this is the one that I chose since it's also by Purina and the price was great. I was skeptical and nervous they were going to turn their little noses up at it then pee on my carpet in protest but thankfully they did not. I honestly think they like this food better. The reason I say that is because there is rarely an empty bowl after feeding time. Now could that be attributed to a difference in nutritional value/content, like the True Instinct is more filling thus they don't have to eat as much to feel full therefore they leave some in their bowl? Possibly. Actually, maybe. Regardless, this is bar none the BEST deal money wise, taste wise, etc., that you can find right now for dry dog food so I would not feel apprehensive to buy it as a dog owner if I were you. Purina is one of the best dog food brands, and you can look that up yourself if you wish, as they spend the money on R%26D (research and development) and given that fact I feel safe feeding it to my dog(s) that I love dearly. And you should too. Oh, one last thing I feel like I should add: the size of the kibble itself was great. Not too big, not too small. As I told you earlier I have a pretty good and diverse sample size of dogs—the biggest being 120lbs and he's a Shepard mix, the smallest being a Chihuahua. His name is Oakley. With some dog foods I find the kibble size is a tad too big for Oakley but this one was perfect for all the dogs. I also appreciated the kibble not being super colorful as one thing I've noticed with more affordable kibbles is how they've colored pieces bright red and green. That also annoys and upsets me because there's absolutely no reason for my dog's food to contain artificial colorings. He eats sh** for heavens sake, he doesn't care that his food is Christmas themed. Anyway, none of that here, thankfully! Hope this helps someone.

8 dogs and they ALL LOVE this food

JULIE May 17, 2026

We have 8 dogs ranging in size from a 5 lb Chihuahua to a 60 lb Pitbull and they all love this food. Our doggies aren't over eaters so we leave food down for them all day long so they can gaze. It never gets stale. Sometimes our old boy, who is a 14 year old Yorkie, gets a bit tired of having to chew so we just add a water or low sodium broth and the food soaks it right up and turns very soft which makes it very easy for him to eat.... highly recommend this food

Gave this 5 starts so you will see this review!!!

Joseph April 30, 2026

I used pure in for 25 years for my dogs. However the price has gone up significantly and the quality has gone down drastically in the last 10 years. It also caused my dogs to get cancer all of them. They have only eaten purina their whole lives, puppy chow and adult dog food. They have lived good lives and my lab made it to 12 years old but I had to have him euthanized because he was eaten up with cancer and my Catahoola has made it to 10 years old but he has cancer too. Same cancer in the same places, spleen, liver, and thyroids. Then my other 2 younger dogs I now have to worry will have the same problems. It's from the corn that is roundup ready that is used in this dogfood. There are many studies showing it and lots of people have had the same results with their dogs. Please take note of this Purina.

Dogs love it. I move around sometimes on their dog food. I don't get this every time but they get energy out of this dog food and they seem happy again. I don't use it every month, but I do switch to it often for the value and they do seem energetically. Usually I buy a big bag. I have 3 dogs. Takes them about a month to finish your bag. So that'll give you perspective on They like this for the price. I wouldn't feed it to him constantly all the time, gotta put in some puppy Chow in there. Sometimes with extra protein. But we want to make sure dogs are getting everything they deserve not just enough to keep them alive. And that's what most of these dog food places are doing now, they're just giving them enough to keep them alive, which is b******* They're sentient beans with souls, they need to be treated better, we need better dog food choices for cheaper price. Their family there is none higher than the better you asked for a review , and this is what you get if you don't want it , don't ask , I love you all stay golden. 144/revolution %23BRAVENEWWORLD!!! Time to wake up

Fundamentally a good quality dog product

townhomemsg May 2, 2026

Compared to basic dry dog food, you would expect basic dry dog food here. Not at all -- well coated with nice purina dry coating, so not a simple dry dog food. Using this dry dog food as a support for daily food is worth it. Looking at ingredients you get everything you need for a healthy dog, plain and simple. Great heavy duty bags as well.

Like high-priced steak to my dogs!

Chris June 2, 2026

Like high-priced steak to my dogs! They absolutely love it. If you have picky eaters or just want a food your animals actually get excited for, this is it. They Obsess Over It: My animals absolutely love this dog food. There is just something about it that they can't get enough of. Never Bored: Every single day it's the same food, but they eat it up like it is a high-priced steak every single time. Great Value: It's affordable for me, but to them, it's a luxury meal. Highly, highly recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable food their dogs will clean out of the bowl!
