Really nice boards. I actually think they look nicer than factory power boards. The only downside is they can't be controlled through steering wheel settings buttons. Unfortunately my special order F350 Sport Super Duty Power Stroke only had fixed boards as an option. Over all very satisfied with the Aftermarket product.
I purchase these and didn't have time to install them myself so I had a local mechanic shop do it. I really like how they are truly plug and play and don't need to have the door sensors. All controls are taken care of through the port under the dash. It look the shop about 3 hours to install and they look great. The lighted boards are another plus. They are however a bit more noisy than the OEM Ford boards I had on my previous truck. The Ford model also has a protective shield over the motors where these do not.
Good product, horrible instructions. I've only had these boards installed a few days. I love then and they make entry and exit very easy. This install took way longer than it should have. Instructions were not detailed enough for my specific vehicle.
absolutely the best steps on the market. had them on my last truck for over 10 years, now on my new truck. this time, a neighbor and I installed them. took a little longer than anticipated but all went well. the final wiring was a little confusing but customer service was great. thanks for making us very happy customers
I was so excited when I received my amp research running boards I have not installed them yet I m waiting until after the first of the year but I know they are exactly what I needed for having my knees replaced over the years it will make entering my truck easier I will let know more about them after I install them can't wait
The steps were very easy to install. It took about 4 to 5 hours to do relatively with no hiccups. The only issue was the LED lights will not stick to the rough texture on the rockers. I ended up putting them on the backside of the rocker, I don't get as much light from them, but they still function. The steps are so much easier to get in and out of the truck. I don't know why I didn't do this four years ago. The cost would also been significantly less considering
The steps are nice and my issues are not with their functionality but the installation. This is not a simple project, when the instructions state “expert” and minimum four hours to install, it's not an exaggeration. Some steps of the manual aren't clear, and a lot time spent on your back if you don't have a lift or access to one. I had wiring connection issues due to the use of positap connectors that were supplied, and ended up taking it to a shop that is a dealer of Realtruck because it's very difficult to access the wires where they are located. I like that it doesn't require separate door sensors, and that made for less wiring but in hindsight, I would have paid for installing it from the beginning. Your mileage may vary. The end result is I am overall pleased with the results and TBD on them in long term usage.
Seeing as though I received my steps with a faulty motor, and after 3 to 4 weeks and still haven't received the replacement motor. Kinda makes me question the customer service. You would think after dropping that kind of money you would expect a speedier turn around. Overall the steps are great quality and work as they should. seeing as I bought the extreme steps they have 2 motors on each side so the step with the faulty motor can still work with only one motor.
These are very nice steps if they worked correctly out of the box and the instructions were half way decent. The wiring was swapped for multiple motors so I had to re wire a couple to make them work properly and the motors are all the same so when you install two will be backwards and are very difficult to get the plugs on and off without taking the whole assembly apart. They don't show this in the install video. Nice but the quality control sucks and the stickers don't say amp they say “real truck” for whatever reason. Nice steps but definitely not worth the money in my opinion
They work well and function as they should, however I was told they were plug and play with no modifications to truck wiring. They are not. Had to tap into wires behind the OBD2 port. Also had to drill a hole in the floorboard of my truck, and when you order the Powersteps for a Supercab, they send you steps for a crew cab and you have to cut 13" off the steps. Perhaps I should request a percentage refund for the 13" of the steps I had to throw away? For the cost of these steps, I expected better.
