Great Digital Drums For The Price

Kathleen M. July 29, 2024

The Pyle PTED01 digital drums work great. It's easy to program the way you want by changing the pad voices and midi note pad assignments. The USB port allows you to connect to your computer for midi sequencing inside your digital audio workstation software. There are five memory locations to store your own drum kits for the internal kits and midi kits. The drum sounds have cross switching for soft and hard hits on the pads which adds a nice dynamic touch. You can play along with the 100 built in songs and mute the kit performances in each song with the ""Drum Off"" button, also you can practice and control the volume of the accompaniment tracks. Please watch my video on how to setup the PTED01 to perform the way you like, and hear how the drum kits sound to make it easier for you to decide if the PTED01 is right for you. Please feel free to use the Video Index below for my video. It's a hit

Gregory W. November 21, 2024

I bought this as a Christmas present for my husband that played the drums in his high school band. To say that he loves it is an understatement. BUT. . . . if you live with other people, PURCHASE SOME HEADPHONES!!! Good Lord, I'm tired of hearing it already, lol.

Great little drum kit!

Mark G. February 8, 2023

I'm a new drummer, but have been a performing musician and sound tech for decades so I know quality sound. I've only had this kit for about an hour but am already very impressed with it. The sounds it produces are high quality, someone could actually gig with this if they wanted to. I'm talking about running it through a P. A. system, which is what I'm doing with it. The pads have a little bounce to them so it feels something like a real drum head. A lot of reviewers have had trouble with the pedals double triggering but I'm not having that problem. I think they actually have a pretty good response once you get used to them. They do need to be velcroed to floor so they don't move around. I haven't explored everything this kit has to offer yet but it is for sure a nice inexpensive set to learn to drum on. I really like having the internal songs that you can play to also. I'm very happy with it.

Love it

Ernesto D. April 21, 2024

This is a great machine. It has many different sounds. The drum sticks are included. I did a lot of research before buying and this was my choice. I would recommend it to you. My only problem is I live in an apartment and it's very noisy. I bought earphones. Make sure you buy earphones with the large stereo attachment to plug it in.

Super cool, great sounds!

Tammy S. May 22, 2023

Been in a couple bands, but never played drums other than getting behind a friend's kit. This thing is super cool. Way more affordable than a new Yamaha tabletop kit, and the sounds are amazing, especially plugged into a PA. I'll just be goofing around with it, but can see how this might be used at a small gig. Someone recommended buying the Hosa breakout cable on Pyle to use a Wii Rock Band pedal, and this worked like a charm. Much better feel and accuracy for the kick-drum.

Decent Kit

Hunter P. September 10, 2022

I really wanted to like this drum kit. In general, I've now tried three Pyle drum kits, the PTED 01 the PTED06 and the PTED09. This one is the 01 and it comes in two different versions one with a dial button and one with a picture of the kit that lights up when you hit the various Drums or symbols. The biggest turnoff for me was the volume. This kit is significantly less loud than any of the other tabletop kits that I have tried. I especially didn't like the fact that when you switched to batteries, the level of sound on the kit only goes to 11 versus 16 with electricity. Even at level 16 this kit was nowhere near as loud as the other table top kits made by Pyle as well as Konix or Yamaha. There were a large number of kit sounds to choose from as well as the sound quality was very good for a tabletop kit. So if the volume is not an issue for you, then this could be a good kit for you.

Great e- drum pad, bad kick pedal.

Patricia P. July 5, 2020

The e-drum pad : I really love this kit. It sounds amazing even thru the built in speakers alone and when run it into a proper amp or P A it really comes alive and sounds like a real drum set! You can get many different drum sounds from it with the module. It does a lot of things and can be hooked to your computer to do even more. set up is easy, build quality seems really good. The pedals: This is where we lose a star. Should lose 2 stars but the drum pads and module are awesome so I didn't want to be too harsh. The kick pedal over triggers . One beat makes several extra unwanted beats. What I did for a temporary fix I jammed a soft piece of plastic inside the pedal. It works somewhat but I have to stop and readjust it about every song and that gets annoying. It's not like I can return it for one with good pedals because these pedals are notoriously bad on all of this model. The solution: There is a guy on YouTube who custom makes upgraded pedals for this model and sells them on eBay. They are a bit pricey ($135. 00) but worth it to make this kit right. Since the price of the kit itself was pretty cheap , I went and ordered the upgrade pedals. Just go on YouTube and search pedal upgrade for Pyle pted06. One question I have for the Pyle company is this…Why would you make such an awesome e-drum pad and cheapen it with such horrible pedals? Edit: Message to Pyle, I paid $170. 00+tax. You have since raised the price to $208. 00 without any improvements to the crappy pedals. It no longer makes since to pay this increase and shell out another $135. 00 for the upgrade pedals when you can get an actual full electronic drum set by Aleysisfor a little more. You just lost another star.

NOT GOOD

Kerry F. May 31, 2025

You gotta pound on the pads to get them to produce sound. Also you'll need to buy a jack adapter to use headphones with it. Layout of the drums is also not what most are used to.

Okay Drum Machine with Issues

Richard H. February 6, 2025

Have had this machine for 6 months now and use it weekly. The sounds are okay, but there are a lot you will never use. The two big issues I have with this machine is that the pedals are horrible, the hi-hat doesn't work very well, and it's almost impossible to get an open accent hit on it correctly, unless you hit the pad and lift your foot on the pedal just right. The worst part is that the bass drum sound has developed an issue where it double triggers when you press down on the pedal, which is very annoying, and pretty much makes this unit unusable for paying music, and others have complained about this as well. Tried getting a hold of the company as it's still under warranty and haven't gotten a response back. Not very happy.

Spend the extra and get something better.

Lori T. April 15, 2020

I read a lot of good reviews for this, and I'm not going to return it because I will use it, or donate it to a local school, the voicing's are alright, but it's not very responsive, and lacks presents in a mix. The pedals are especially slow to respond.
