This is my first CMD backup camera so maybe I was expecting too much, but I am disappointed with the quality of picture from this camera. Pyle says in their description AND on the box the camera comes in that it has LEDs for night vision. It does not. The picture is grainy but okay during the day but not very good at night. The camera is advertised as 1/3" CMD but the picture is no better than a CMOS camera picture. It is also advertised as having a LUX of 0.01 which is extremely good, but the User Manual says 0.1-0.5 LUX which is similar to many CMOS cameras. It does have the option to show three distance lines which I measured to be at 12 inches, 24 inches and 36 inches from the camera. The part of the User Manual that talks about installing the camera isn't even for this camera. It's for the bullet-shaped camera that you can flush mount in a bumper. The mounting bracket does swivel from almost parallel with the top of the camera to parallel with the back of the camera or you can move the mounting bracket to the bottom of the camera so it can be mounted on top of a bumper and pointing up slightly. Not sure why anyone would want to do that. Unfortunately the holes in the mounting bracket are very small and somewhat heart-shaped making it difficult to enlarge them with a drill. I had to use a tiny round file. You will find it difficult to mount using any existing screw(s) on your vehicle because of the size of the holes in the mounting bracket. You can use the double sided tape provided by Pyle to stick the camera just about anywhere. Also, the wires are so small (thin) that they can't be stripped with a standard stripping tool. I tried using a knife to strip the insulation off and ended up just cutting the wire in two. What worked the best for me was a 25 watt soldering iron and melting the insulation off. The wire is so small that I couldn't use crimp connectors. I had to solder it to my 18 gauge power and ground wires.
