I personally don't use the cable that comes inside, but I can tell you that this is the best Mic Boom Stand… I've tried several before this one, and this is easily the best one out of all of them. If you are looking for a long one, this is the one for you.

Great product, met all my expectations.

I was looking for something to use with my ""Ham Radio"" that would hold many different microphones, hands free. This fit the bill 100%. The built-in XLR terminated cable is nice quality, but it would have been great if the ""free end"", termination could have been ordered and selected with a 1/4"" or 1/8"" male plug, or other termination. I would have liked the threaded microphone adaptor to have been the same color as the arm instead of the gold color. Great quality, smooth adjustments, and easy to set up. All in all I would give this product a score of 100 out of 100, and would strongly recommend it, and purchase it again.

All in all, a great purchase! Priced reasonably, less expensive than most and sturdier than I expected. Construction is solid, springs tight and still flexible. And this baby adjusted to every position I could ask for. Take care to lock the main pole into table clamp; if it's not tight, the weight of the unit may tip it. My mistake there. . . like I said, sturdy! Mike cage is intricate and very secure as well. Very happy!

Honestly this is a pretty solid mount. I have purchased pile products in the past and always been happy. This is no exception. I cannot speak to the quality of the microphone cable as I have not done specific testing on that, however this mount is currently holding one of my large diaphragm condenser microphones and I'm not worried about it at all. I would definitely recommend this product

. . . and the basics are all I needed. I've been using this stand for around 7 years, so trust that I'm not complaining about its value. When I purchased my Audio-Technica AT2020+ USB condenser microphone (which is a fantastic piece of equipment), I needed a stand to mount it in. I bought this, and the microphone fits inside the mount (but just barely because it's so thick. . . but that's on Audio-Technica, not Pyle). If I had to complain, the two features I would want (if/when I eventually replace this in the future) are: 1. An arm that can extend further out so the microphone lands more centrally in front of my face. 2. A way to easily remove the internal microphone cable I'll never use. But the lack of these features aren't really problems with this microphone. It was my (good!) choice to buy such a basic model. All I've had to do for maintenance is purchase replacement elastic bands because the AT2020 is so freakin' heavy, and that was only after years of use. Would I buy this again? Probably not. I'd spring for something a bit fancier. But do I regret my purchasing decision? Absolutely not. If you need a basic, quality microphone stand, buy this.

Holds a condenser mic great! The glue on the green protector pad it comes with won't hold, so keep that in mind. I do wish the joint where the arm meets the base had a nicer range and feel of motion, but. . . well, frankly, that's just not what you're paying for at this price point! This does the job, and I see no reason to replace it.

Will work in a pinch but its all the highly constructed with sturdy materials. Also didn't mention it came with a preinstalled XLR cable that cant be removed so now my cable management is all over the place. . . . barely held my Audio Technica AT2020 mic but kept collapsing when i added the few ounces of the pop filter. Not wqorth the money considering there are cheap boom arms for under 20 dollars. . . isn't the worst isn't the best.

So, I got this and I was super excited to use it in my recording studio, I actually got two, to my surprise, one of them had faulty wire, which I thought wasn't a big deal. But the worst part is that the second one I have, the suspension for the microphone did not hold onto microphone stand, which I tried to fix, but just couldn't due to the fact that nails won't screw inside. Overall I wouldn't recommend this product, I would buy something more expensive just so I'd know it's made of better quality.

I finally got this to work. But I had to spend an extra $30 as well as 4 to 5 hours of labor. I basically had to rebuild to clamp because it wasn't strong enough to support the weight of the stand (without any microphone attached). It also doesn't reach nearly as far as the description claims, so I had to use more parts from another mic stand to make it reach. There's mic stands that sell for a little over $100. I thought I was being smart by getting this one, but I should've just purchased the other one. Do yourself a favor and spend $100 on a quality stand. After spending $30 on extra parts and 4 to 5 hours of labor (which is equal to at least $164), this is just not worth it.
