Look cool while you sing!

Oobubbleo October 17, 2016

I LOVE my new Pyle Classic Retro Vintage Style microphone! It looks good and the sound is great! I have wanted one of these since I was a kid, and just couldn't be happier about being able to buy one! Mine is for personal use, but if I ever get to go on stage with it, I know I'll at least look cool!

Be real...

Michael December 22, 2020

Let's be real...you cannot expect any microphone to sound professional at this price. This one can serve a few purposes but if you're expecting this to sound professional then you are very inexperienced in sound. It's plastic but I like the looks. I will probably use it for background sounds added to my music that are meant to sound "unclean and/or juvinile". If you are inexperienced with sound, just look at mics on AMS, Sweetwater, or Guitar Center websites and you will instantly see how cheap this really is. Don't buy this expecting it to sound like a professional mic. It is what it is and priced right.

What it is is really retro-cool looking

BigGalloot March 1, 2017

If what you are looking for is a microphone for extreme high fidelity work, this ain't it. But it is a cool looking thing and for normal uses it is more than good enough. Toss in some chorus/tremolo/ reverb and even I sound good!

Pyle Retro Mics worked great!

tmw721 December 10, 2016

You can't beat the price for these beautiful retro mics, $30 was the best deal by far. Everyone loved the look of them and the worked really well. You do have to speak right into the mic, but it wasn't an issue this time around. Definitely would buy again!

Plastic vs Metal

Eddie November 27, 2016

The Pyle PDMIC42SL is not a mic you buy for its ability to capture sound. There's a long list of mics you should rely on for quality of sound before this one. The beauty of this microphone is only skin-deep... its appeal is in its looks. This is a retro looking mic in the style of classics like the Shure 55, and Pyle does a great job of channeling the look without being a complete rip-off of the original article. It's chromey and pretty and looks like a '50s rock-n-roll or doo-wop act should be on-stage with it. This model's fatal flaw is its plastic construction. The description on Pyle's site (which I read after the fact) clearly states it, but I don't think the description I read on WalMart.com mentioned it. I didn't realize it was all plastic until I unboxed it and picked it up for the first time. It just doesn't feel like it would hold up to much wear and tear, and I don't think it would stay that pretty for too long. I re-boxed my 48, returned it to Wal-Mart, then jumped right back online to order Pyle's die-cast metal offering of this same design, the PDMICR68SL. It doesn't sound any better than the 48, and it's $15-$25 more, but the comfort of it being all-metal made the price difference worthwhile. It feels like it'll last a while, even if it's only ever used as a prop in my retro-style photoshoots. Go with the metal version!

The microphone has a Cancer risk warning. I would not recommend this microphone to anyone
