I was interested in these speakers mainly because they can be mounted in a variety of ways on my boat which has a few different size rails, so far so good although I have only used them a couple of times. They are wired directly to a JVC head unit with rated wattage of up to 22RMS per speaker, decently loud enough for us, maybe not so much for others but just hoping they survive in a salt marine climate.
Used these in the rear of my 1984 CJ-7. Waterproof had me sold and these speakers do not disappoint!! Sound great and the clamps fit the factory rollbar!! Ordering up a 2nd set for my Carolina skiff next.
I haven't had a chance to test the sound quality, but I have had Pyle speakers in the past, and they always sounded great, and they're made in the USA!
You pay for what you get in electronics. So I knew I wasn't getting top quality sound. Even with my 1000w amp, they aren't that loud. Install was easy though and it all works well.
Mount and function as you would expect but audio quality is mediocre. Disappointed by this.
We bought these for my daughters Jeep in August of this year. We had them installed by car toys ""a professional"" in September. The professionals cannot understand why the speakers keep falling out of the housing. These are rated for wakeboard boats, UTVs, etc. I was told they should be perfect for a Jeep Wrangler. Now Pyle is stating I cannot return. . . ""too late"" is what the rep keeps stating.
Installed these Pyle speakers 4-6 weeks ago and after day 7 on the lake someone noticed they had fallen apart. There was a bit of wind and choppy waves but tower speakers should be built for vibration right that what speakers do. Somewhere through the day fell apart and into the lake. It's pretty obvious what happened you can see the speakers had a ring mount inside just glued in with some black glue and then the actual speakers screwed into the mounting ring but the glue failed. No more Pyle speakers for me.
Put these on my boat, then drove an hour out to the lake and by the time I got there all that was left was the housing. Both speakers fell out somewhere along the highway. Couldn't return them as it was past the return date. Buy a better quality
put them on my jeep roll cage and with in days the glue holding one together gave out and about 8 months later the other side gave out as well they were a total waste of money
very small gage wire (22) did not feel good about them but decided to try they worked ok for about 3-4 hours then went to about 10% sound level thankfully Pyle extended my return window
