So disappointed. I loved oatmeal squares, now they are not even square….they don’t have the same texture and don’t taste as good at all. I just bought 3 boxes and was so excited, just poured my first bowl and not excited about oatmeal squares anymore. Change it back, it’s obviously not a smart business change. At least make the product on the box match the new look of the cereal and mark that it has changed. FALSE ADVERTISING!!!!
I was so excited to be able to pick up a box after not seeing them in my local supermarket for a while. I wish I hadn’t. Gone is the slightly cinnamon tasting square of deliciousness that I once loved. What happened? This cereal is now bland and rectangular, reeking of cut corners and cheap processing. Please bring back the old recipe!
Seems like this cereal change will put loyal customers off for good. It’s been at least a year since I’ve found it back on shelves, bought a box, and found the change wildly off putting. I check back here periodically to see if they’ve reverted to the original recipe/formula. I’m still out. Yuck!
What. Did. You. Do? I used to love this cereal! Perfect size for a breakfast on the go or mid-morning snack. Held up well in a baggie in my backpack. The squares had flavor. And texture. And crunch. These new rectangles look like blown-up Cap'n Crunch bites, and taste like it too. Very disappointed.
These are disgusting now. They are bland, literally flavorless. They are weird, long rectangles and a light tan color, instead of textured squares with a darker brown color. I used to love these. I am so sad and disappointed by the huge drop in quality.
Bought them after not trying them for years, was really looking forward to it as it was one of my favorite cereals growing up but I was disappointed when I tasted them as they taste NOTHING like they used to. Did some research as the squares seemed smaller than I remembered and came across hundreds of people having the same experience, everyone claiming that this new recipe tastes like cardboard. This new recipe is so bad, hopefully they revert whatever changes they made.
I recently purchased this cereal for the first time in a while. I was looking forward to the crunch and flavor of the original Oat Square that I loved. The new recipe is poor substitute. It looks and tastes fake. Are we using AI to make cereal now? Bring back the original Oat Square!
Why the drastic recipe and production change? The new shape, texture and flavor is awful. Was my favorite cereal growing up but will no longer purchase. Can't even finish the overpriced box I got. And why use the old photos of the original product we all knew and loved? Misleading. Loyal customer for 30+ years - will never buy again.
This is not the same product we've eaten for years. It is tasteless and chews like soggy cardboard -- not the crunchy, yummy tasting cereal we know and love. Please bring back the original recipe/product.
As others have pointed out. Not the same cereal, despite keeping the product photos the same, which I think falls outside the FTC rules that the product has to the be same as what is shown. Food styling/scale aside, they are clearly not the same shape. They are now notably smaller and rectangularly shaped. They do not taste the same, but not sure how much of that is related to the smaller size and subpar texture. The chew is chalky/powdery and unsatisfying, tasting "cheaper" like a children's novelty cereal. Formerly loved this cereal.
