I received Quaker Old Fashioned Oats, 64 oz. Bags, 2 Count from Walmart Spark Reviewer in exchange for an honest review of the product. Wow! I love oatmeal and especially Quaker Oats. What I like about this box, is 1. there are 64 oz. this will last me forever. 2. I like the old fashioned oats. They have a great flavor. You can do so much with this size box. Eat oatmeal for breakfast and make lots of cookies. You just can't beat the flavor of good Old Fashioned Quaker Oats.
Quaker Oats is the brand you know and love. It does not get any better than this. It comes in a big box with two bags inside. 64 oz is a good amount of oats and will last you a long time. The two separate bags are wonderful as they last awhile and having two means you don't have to worry about a big bag of oats getting old. The two bags allow for easier pouring as well. I personally use mine every day because I do overnight oats. The oats have a great taste and are very hearty. They keep me from snacking throughout the day because I feel full. I have also tested them out in other recipes and they work well for oatmeal cookies, meatloaf, smoothies and homemade granola bars. Remember that oatmeal can be savory too. Add some garlic, cheddar and a fried egg and you have got yourself a scrumptious meal. This product is a money saver with the big bags and you can definitely use it as it is very versatile in cooking.
I love oatmeal. In the winter I eat it most every morning. And I have used a lot of instant oatmeal packs, plain which I prefer. And these old fashioned Quaker Oats are plain and even better. You do have to measure oats to water and it does take a little bit longer to cook but I like it even better than the instant oatmeal because the texture is better. Now if you do like really smooth, mushy oatmeal, you just have to cook it a little bit longer. But I like it plain made with water throwing some dried blueberries and splash of cream and it's a great breakfast! Actually you can have it for dinner if it's been a really long hard day and I just can't think of cooking. Very satisfying! I also think old fashioned oats make better oatmeal cookies and I also use in my meatloaf since I'm not very tolerant of gluten so bread crumbs are out.
We eat Quaker Oatmeal daily so it was neat to get some via the review program. Most people already know that oatmeal is nutritious, has antioxidants, has high fiber content, and may help with cholesterol and sugar level control. It’s also easy to prepare. However, the other factor is that this is the first time I’ve had food delivered. Am in a semi-rural area and always have driven across town to shop for groceries. Walmart sells many non-perishable food items at competitive prices for delivery – a new experience for me. We do not have a local Walmart close by my house. I’m going to explore further having foodstuffs and household items delivered in the future. It was fast, convenient, and not costly.
I love oats for breakfast and for a late-night snack. I also use them in meatloaf and in cookie recipes. And now, with the "Overnight Oats" recipes all over the place, they are easy to make and eat even without cooking them. But it's easy to cook them in the microwave. I use a big vintage Pyrex bowl from the 1960s. When using the microwave, leave lots of room for the oats to expand - they will collapse back down when you turn the microwave off, but while cooking, they need room. It's easy - put in water, oats, and a bit of salt, then zap until boiling. I do like Quaker Oats the best, because I think the quality is better. I never find hard bits of the oat plant or sharp bits of the oat husk when I buy Quaker Oats. I just want to be able to pour out the oats and use them without picking through them. And I've never gotten stale oats. Helpful Hint: ALWAYS store your uncooked oats either in a good glass jar, or put the package into the fridge. That way, never a worry about bugs. You can put them into the fridge and use them a year later and they won't be buggy or stale. Unlike prepared cereal, oats have a more lasting feeling in your tummy. I don't feel sick after eating oats, but I do get a sick feeling after eating a big bowl of cereal. So I'm done with the prepared cereals!
What can you say about Quaker oats? A super healthy and inexpensive food. The perfect item to buy in bulk. I used to just eat it hot with sugar and butter. I now use it in shakes that I make myself and I will pour milk over them and let them soak overnight with some fruit. Perfect grab and go breakfast.
This is the best oatmeal Quaker Oats makes. This is a breakfast staple for me and my family. It gives me energy to get through the day and tastes great. It doesn't have all the sugar like the instant oatmeal so its so much healthier and one.box lasts a long time.
Quaker Old Fashioned Oats, 64oz bags, 2 Count This Quaker Old Fashioned Oats is a food item that my family has found to be one that helps us to live a better life. It is our daily food for breakfast each morning and we have found that it “sticks to our ribs” and keeps us full for the entire morning. This is a healthy habit that cannot be beat. As we try to each better each day it is good to know that this food is it is one product, just 100% whole wheat Quaker Oats with no hidden ingredients that we cannot pronounce. Oatmeal can help reduce cholesterol and is a great product to keep a healthy heart. My family loves the Oatmeal Cookies that I make with these oats which keeps us eating oatmeal all day long.
I have always bought the pre packaged oatmeal where you mix it with milk and pop in the microwave. So got this to try fixing it different way. I fix it with milk and cut peaches up real small and add to othe oatmeal. I think so far that is my favorite. You can use your imagination and put all kinds of things in it like nuts, the fruit, honey or brown sugar if you like it sweet. Everyone needs fiber and this oatmeal gives you 2 grams of fiber out of the 3 grams you need daily. I used it to make oatmeal, raisin and nut cookies yesterday. I did not know this but it reads you can use this in meatloaf. I normally use saltine crackers but I bet the oatmeal will make the meatloaf much better. I like that Quaker Oatmeal is sodium free. I am on a low sodium low fat diet so this is an a great breakfast for me or anyone on that kind of diet. It's 4 lbs. of Quaker Oatment which is 2 - 2 lb. bags inside the box. I like that it is 2 packs like that. That way you can only open 2 lbs at time.
I am not new to Quaker Old Fashioned Oats, I grew up on them. I make my oatmeal by the bowl. I put 2 tablespoons of oats in the bowl cover it with hot water and let it cook in the microwave for one minute. I have it with brown sugar and cinnamon or fresh fruit, like bananas or strawberries. I eat a bowl a day, any time of day, breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. There are many benefits of eating oats; weight loss, lower blood sugar level and can reduced the risk of heart disease. Have you had your bowl today?
