Love my British mysteries

I was charmed The pacing was excellent for me - great expressions - well-acted, interesting story lines, lovely filming, good music... intrigued by the ongoing mystery of Matilda's mom, and the attraction between she and the doctor. I sometimes find a narrator annoying, but really enjoyed it in this series. I loved the Aunts (I know three sisters who are equally as different and also Very close to each other. This reminded me of them). Much enjoyed - I'd like to see more. Thank you!

This is refreshingly adorable. 3 Aunts raise there niece from there elder sister who disappears when Emma her Daughter was 5. All 3 aunts are successful writers in a small town in England. The Niece Emma becomes a police Sargent in local police and she is solving murders with her Aunts who meddle in everything she does. Her boss the Chief Inspector is still in love with one of her Aunts, the one who owns the local mystery book shop. It's a great read or watch they get into situations with 60's hippy bands, Bikers and well I can't tell u any more or you won't watch. I can't wait for Season 2 which is in the can but waiting to come to BBC America or Acorn. Enjoy.

As a woman, who is a mystery buff, I purchased "Queens" to view by myself (after my husband goes to bed). The stories are good; engaging, but I haven't seen the last story yet. I am hoping that Matilda finds out something about her mother's disappearance. Mattie's aunts are kinda "out there", and none of them look like they're related to each other. Good story lines, though.

The show is silly and inane. The description makes it sound like one of the good detective shows put out by the BBC but the actual show is far from what one expects of the BBC. I watched about half of the first episode and will not waste my time watching another minute.

First episode ok, started second and soon into it, a missing dog is found dead. Don't you writers know - You Never Ever Kill A Dog! Stopped watching it and returned the DVDs. P.S. If this is trying to be so different, why did it have to make one of the sisters conform to a PC stereotype? But seriously - Never Kill a Dog.
