I use these boots for turn-out and am very happy with them. My horse is very hard on bell boots and I have used many different types. These protect well, stay on, and clean up nicely. My horse is a 16.3hh warmblood and he usually wears an XL in all other boots. The Large fit perfectly.
My 16 hand mammoth donkey has a neuromuscular disorder that makes it difficult to rise after laying down. For six months she rubbed her ankles raw. I reversed these soft bell boots so that they are upside down to cover her ankles, and it works perfectly! Immediately the next morning I was pleased to see her ankles were already on the mend. Yes, they had sawdust all over them, inside and out, but it's easily removed by grooming the boots with a stiff body brush. She has used these boots nightly for a couple weeks and finally has hair regrowth around her ankles. Great product and extremely durable for what this 1,000 pound animal puts them through. They are easily adjustable with three hook/loop closures.
i bought a pair of these bell boots, and the sports medicine boots over 15 years ago, and those have held up all this time. i just barely got a split in my old bell boots and bought these to replace them. i can tell these will last just as long if not longer, and are just as good quality as the originals.
I purchased size medium Professional Choice bell boots for my 15 hand Arabian and it was a very good fit. I have already washed them and they came out like new. Fast shipping also!
These are our third pair of these quick-wrap bell boots, our horse has a really long reach and these protect him so well. And they hold up beautifully! He has worn out one pair so these are our "back-up" pair. Will continue to buy them as we need them.
I bought these boots after my new jumper overreached in one of our rides, and I'm so happy I got them! They fit him well, are easy to put on (with right and left tags so I can never get it wrong!), and look good with our boots. They are super easy to clean, I rinsed them with the hose and they looked brand new again! I only use them when we jump and haven't had them long so I can't account for durability but my other items from this brand have always held up well. Kind of hard to get off though because the Velcro is strong and thin, but that's worth it!
I bought these several years ago and am just now needing to buy more. They've been on my horses 24/7 for several years and the velcro just now broke. In my opinion, that's a long time for bell boots! They are very padded and cushy so they protect not only the shoe but also the horse's sensitive bulb of the heel. Great value for the price.
I just bought the Professional choice quick wrap bell boots, I so love these bell boots. They fit Fagan's size 5 hoofs and they don't move. I had a pair of the of the ballistic overreach boots (size 3x) but Fagan kept flipping them around during our rides, so I went back to the quick wrap bell boots. I have not been disappointed they protect Fagan's hooves really well and have held up wonderfully. The quality is excellent and I expect them to last a very long time.
My horse steps on the sides of his front feet in turnout (front foot to front foot), occasionally pulling his shoes off. These bell boots are the only style that can cover down to the ground at the sides and at his heel. When I tried larger size rubber bell boots that could hit the ground on the sides, they caused rubs. My horse wears these during full day turnout in a group and no rubs with these so far. And no pulled shoes! The wrap style of these bell boots let me wrap him the way I need to to cover where I need it to. They are soft but strong and have held up very well so far. Velco seems durable and sticks well. Mud washes off at night, and they are ready to be put back on in the morning. Worth the price, and I will buy again.
I loved these boots and have had many pairs. They were formally a 5-star product for me, and would last a year. However, the last pair I bought seems to have thinner velcro (or maybe is faulty?). My horse has worn through the velcro twice in just six months. It's worn so thin that I can't even sew it back together anymore. Such a bummer! I hope Professional Choice will consider returning to the old material if they've made a change.
