When opening the package, the plastic smelled a little fishy, probably a wash would take care of the smell, but it was also hot to sleep on.

I needed a new mattress pad for my California king-sized bed...this one popped up first...I clicked on it and read the reviews...mainly because it was dirt cheap for a special size...I will be adding to the high marks....it fit perfectly and was of a nice quality too...not noisy or stiff...actually it was soft feeling. I would buy it again.

This is more suitable for small children or elderly adults who wet the bed. I wanted a mattress pad to add softness, cushioning and plushness to the mattress, not just a layer of cloth over a piece of plastic, which has no benefit, other than keeping the mattress dry.
