Ok this stuff works really well compair to others. I tried them all. But...It takes elbow grease. Here's the deal. if it is a scratch that you can catch your fingernail on, it's not going to magically cover it up. it's gonna take some sanding. Now light (very light) stratches and white looking scuff marks, it will work great! if a scratch that you can catch your finger nail on. use the sandpaper. I perfer wet sand. just wet the area and the sandpaper. the sandpaper is like 3000 i believe. be careful not to sand down to primer. lightly sand the scratch in a circular motion with the wet sandpaper. it will start looking milky white. this is normal. sand to scratch starts fadeing away. i usely dont do it till its completely gone. i usely stop at when i can just barely see it. just barely. wipe it dry. now this will look scarey. like you just screwed up. it will be white looking scuffed area. this is just the clear coat gone that hopefully got rid of the scratch. if not the scratch if probably down to the primer. i wouldnt sand no further. now use tube 1 and rub in a circular motion. use elbow grease. put some muscle into it. i usely do a couple coats. spray with water and wipe dry. now use tube 2 and do the same thing but dont spray and wipe dry. i rub until it's clear. when done right this stuff is awesome. good luck.
I bought this because I ordered some paint from Amazon that matched the color of my car after some idiot scratched my car with an umbrella. I painted on the color and covered it with the clear coat after it was dry. The next day when I came out to look at it, it looked horrible!! It looked like the clear coat had bubbled up and had been painted on unevenly. I was so upset. So I took to the auto part store and bought some 2500 grit sandpaper and then on to Walmart to buy this product. After sanding down the uneven painted on clear coat, I used this product. I first buffed the repair liquid into the spot for about two minutes and then I buffed the shine liquid into it for another two minutes. My paint looks good as new! This stuff was a life saver!!! All in all, you can't even tell that some idiot scratched my car with their umbrella. Oh yeah... That idiot was me.
I had light swirl scratches in numerous parts all over my car. I did the fingernail test and wasn't very deep, so I did the wet test and couldn't see them. Tried just using the #1 repair and the #2 finish, and they faded, but I could still noticeably see them. I decided to wet sand using the 3000 grit sand paper followed by the #1 repair then the #2 finish, and what a huge difference it made! The scratches are completely gone! Very satisfied I tried this product first before taking it in to be professionally done. Saved me hundreds! Definitely recommend you try this before anything else.
For light scratches to the clear coat, this works perfectly. If your scratch is below the clear coat, this is not the product. I had a couple of major scratches on driver side door, large area but not deep. I followed the directions and scratches are 99% gone. I ended up walking around the vehicle just looking for scratches to repair. It does take elbow grease, for sure. But well worth $15. I own a beautiful Acura MDX, for what it's worth.
I saw this item while I was online and read the review from other customer and I found it on Walmart.com for a reasonable price.
If you have anything more than a fingernail scratch, this product will do little to help you. I had low expectations and it seemed to meet them. The product left a film that had to be cleaned off aggressively. And on successive nights since it grew worse in the hot sun. And many of my very fine scratches reappeared on the car and had to be covered more than once. Washing the car made them worse. Don't expect much from this and you will do fine.
This product was smashed, boxed open and thrown in a larger box with my 24 roll of toilet. It should have been wrapped before mailing it loosely in the box. No Paid for shipping.
I can't say anymore because I couldn't go back and change my rating. This particular item I was notified would be arriving “late”! And hopefully it will come in today's mail; and if not today - maybe tomorrow.
don't work waste of money ... im got scratch on side door nothing happens just need cleaning up more after white wax im got gray Honda civic .... next day scratch still there
I bought this because it said easy to use, and "everything included " when I got around to opening the instructions I found I needed a scratch pen or touch up paint or this or that. Been sitting on the counter ever since. It might be really good after you purchase all the "extras".
