This bed is great. Its basic metal that was coated with white paint. Its not perfect. You can see the welding on the rails, but it is very very sturdy. I mean, first thing our 4 year old did was jump on it. The bed part is designed so that you do NOT need a box spring. We ended up buying the slumber youth bunkbed mattress. Its perfect. The bed comes in 5 pieces, including the headboard, footboard, and the 3 piece bed part.. plus the hardware. Its easy to put together, only took me about 20 minutes. And this bed is long. Also, because we bought it for our 4 year old, we put a side rail on the bed, so she wont roll out of it. Its a great starter bed for your child. I do recommend this bed if you are looking for a good value, and a bed that will last. My only complaint was in the packaging. The bed pieces were covered with very thin layers of styrofoam that break apart in your hands, so it ended up all over my house.. but that is literally my ONLY complaint. It does not effect how I feel about the bed. So we spent about 220 for this bed and a bunkbed mattress from Wmart. Not a bad price!

THIS BED WAS WAY MORE STURDY THAN I COULD HAVE IMAGINED! AND SUPER EASY TO PUT TOGETHER. I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT TOGETHER ON MY OWN WITH NO HELP FROM ANYONE! THE WEIGHT IT SUPPORTS IS AMAZING. I MYSELF AM 165LB AND MY DAUGHTER IS ALMOST 40 LBS. NO SQUEALING OR SQUEAKING OF THE BED WHEN ME LAY ACROSS IT! WOWW..YOU DONOT NEED A BOXSPRING!! I BOUGHT COMPLETE SET AND NOW HAVE TO RETURN BOX SPRING BECAUSE THE FRAME OF BED IS STURDY AND A BOXSPRING RAISES BED WAY TOO HIGH. OVERALL,IT WAS A GREAT PURCHASE FOR MY DAUGHTER..YOLANDA

We bought two of these beds for our daughters' room. They are 3 and 7 and we like the fact that the beds aren't too high off the ground for our youngest and there's a metal mesh base so we didn't need to buy a box spring either. These are very solid beds that I envision lasting many years. I am pleased with how durable they seem to be and that they meet all our needs. They also look nice and I could see them being in a guest room some day. The one drawback is that my husband said the blots didn't line up properly when he was assembling it and it was a pain to get them all in properly. It doesn't effect the function or stability, it was just a sticking point that made it less than perfect.

We got this bed to convert our daughter's room from toddler/small child room to a big girl's room. It does not sit too high above the ground, & with the metal mesh slats on the bottom we did not have to worry about buying a box spring. The metal frame is very sturdy, & the design & color remind me of the classic beauty of some of my great grandmother's beds from the 1920's. It is as beautiful as it is in the picture, & worth every penny. Our daughter will be able to enjoy this bed until she is all grown up. :)

I wouldn't say it if it wasnt true. But seriously, this bed is really sturdy and GREAT for the price we paid. WOW!! On a small side note, I received the bed with a small dent in the headboard and the footboard had light scratches. But nothing that would cause the bed to be unsturdy. Now, please know there aren't any ledges on the edge of the full metal slat to hold the mattress on. It's kinda slippery, so we had to get a 1.5 " memory foam topper and put it under the mattress to help hold the mattress in place. We got this for our daughter who is almost 2 and we wanted her out of a crib. The bed is so girly and perfect. Just keep in mind since there aren't any ledges on the full metal slat where the mattress lays, the mattress without box springs tends to slide around a bit. But it's fixable. Even an egg crate might work, those were cheaper but I went with the memory foam topper because its thicker and absorbs into the metal slats better to help keep mattress from sliding. (Note, we have a bed skirt under the mattress and I was determined to keep it, so that was the cause for mattress sliding. If the metal slat had ledges to help support the mattress it wouldn't slide but since it doesn't we made it work. Especially because the bed is SO cute and sturdy. Highly recommended buy.

I was really nervous when I read the other comments but honestly this is the cutest bed and perfect my daughter who is 10 and transitioning to the teenage time of her life. It wasn't hard to put together. You can't go wrong for the price!

I ordered two beds and two mattresses of which it said they would come separately. Fortunately, within a week everything came at the same time. The first bed to about an hour but the second one took about 40 mins. I just wished the nail holes lined up better for easier building. My girls were and are excited about new beds. I would recommend them. My girls are 10 and 12.

I purchased this bed frame for our grandson, who's now in his first "big boy bed". Although this is very sturdy, I am a bit disappointed in the overall quality. First of all, despite the incredibly easy assembly (12 bolts to screw in), I had a heck of a time because one of the middle joining pieces (that hook the two halves of the bed frame the mattress sits on) would NOT go on as it should have, probably because either that piece or the bed frame were bent slightly. I had to "persuade" the frame into the joining piece by using a hammer. DO NOT DO THIS!!! USE A RUBBER MALLET!!!! The white metal paint chipped off all over the place! (I don't own a rubber mallet). I was NOT a happy camper, but by golly I got that bed together! The other one went on w/o any trouble at all. The directions say to be sure to wipe down the whole thing with soapy water. I would say so - it was grimy from the factory I guess. my hands were filthy. as for the quality, I'm not overly impressed. where the 'rungs' on the head and footboards join to the cross piece, I see gaps in several places where the two didn't quite meet. poor quality workmanship. any little toy crashing down on this frame will surely chip the paint, so I'm only giving this thing a fair to average rating. after all, it's Wal-Mart, and you get what you pay for. That being said, it is really cute if you like the vintage look. I was just wanting a vintage style, not too expensive bed frame for the grandkids to use when they're here, and this fits the bill. finally, you will not need a box spring for this - the bed frame is sturdy enough to support the mattress, just like a bunk bed would. in fact, if you do put a foundation on, the mattress will sit up higher than the top of the footboard! I don't know if the details on the website said that or not, but if it did, I didn't read that part, so now have to take the foundation I bought back to the store. All in all, I'd recommend this, but not as happy with it as I was hoping to be.

The bed is sturdy and pretty, it arrived on time..the only negative u can tell the bed had scratches that were painted over..:/ ..i have ordered before from walmart with no problems..very disapointed.

I read the reviews before buying but they told me i would recieve it june 4th and it came a couple days early. There was no con. Letter online saying they shipped it. As a matter of fact they put it on the side of the house and it sat there before i moved in. My son found it a few days later saying there was bed on the side of the house. Well i brought it in and tried putting it together. It was easy except for the fact one part of the bed was missing a screw hole on one side so the screw ciuldnt go through all the way. Then at the footboard both holes were too small for the screws. The phone number listed on the instructions was out of service and i even tried calling information for that company and they said the same thing. I had ni choice to return it to wallmart. Im sure not everyone has had this problem but from now on i will buy my furniture from a company local so i can judt walk into there store and rest assured they will put the piece together for me. Very disappointed with wallmart using this company. There out of service and how is wallmart being able to keep in contact with someone like that.
