I bought one already for my brother-in-law for a birthday gift. He loves it a lot. my sister wanted his birthday gift. so I got her one too and she loves having her own. I highly recommend this product.
it's was perfect, from the color and size and it's works. the zipper works and runs smoothly. the vents was a very nice and kept me comfortable
I've bought this jacket for 4 different people and they have all lived it!
Really good quality rain jackets, and I got them at a huge discount online.
The Rainer Essential rain jacket can definitely weather any rain storm. It’s light weight and soft fabric makes this jacket a very comfortable fit. It provides a lot of mobility in it as the fabric stretches and does not feel constricted on the body. I like the Velcro on the sleeves thatvprovide the perfect fit on the wrist. It definitely is a breathable jacket and provides the ultimate protection from the rain. The hood has the draw strings to tighten up the fit around the head and the zippered pockets protect your valuable sleep from the rain. I definitely like the design on the bottom inside as well. I have made this my go to jacket for the elements.
The Rainier Waterproof Breathable Essential Rain Jacket in Navy is the perfect addition to your rainy day gear. The jacket is lightweight and breathable. It is vey comfortable. The jackets includes many features to help keep you dry in the rain. It includes an extended hood visor and adjustable hood drawcords, covered zippered pockets, adjustable hem drawcords, as well as arm pit zippers for ventilation. This is a great stylish rain jacket and highly recommended.
I ordered the Ranier Waterproof Essential Rian Jacket in Navy, size Medium. It is a well made rain jacket. The company thought of everything when designing the jacket. I really like the Velcro closure on the sleeve cuffs, and on the storm guard on the neck. It has adjustable drawcords on the hem, and the hood to get a perfect fit against the rain/wind. The hood visor extends to keep the rain off my face. The welt pockets are very deep for storing my personal items and/or keeping my hands warm/dry. It has a locker loop for hanging. It has a nice looking pattern lining. The lining, and the jacket are all soft to the touch. The best part of this jacket for me is the zippered arm pit vents. Rain jacket usually have 2-3 little holes for vents. Not the Ranier, they have an entire zipper inside the jacket. They both measure 10" long. The humidity in FL is horrible during the rainy season. So, being able to open those pit vients is crucial for breathability. The jacket has a 5000/50000 MVT rating. Its outer shell is water repellant. The lining is waterproof, and breathable. A 2000-5000 rating is great for errands around town. A 5000-8000 rating is great for a weekend in the mountains. I would order a size up, the jacket just fit. The sleeves were a bit long, but with the velcro closure it was easy enough to get a great fit. The Ranier Premium Rain Jacket is waterproof, breathable, and great for errands around town, or hiking/camping. I was impressed with the quality of this jacket.
I got this as a rain jacket for riding a motorcycle in daily Florida summer sunshowers. It's lightweight and easy to store. Ordered Navy blue and got Hunter green, which is disappointing. As far as sizes go, it runs pretty big. I generally wear an extra large, borderline large. I ordered the large and it’s too big. Easily could have pulled off a medium. I'm 5'10", 205 lbs. Velcro closures at the neck and wrists. Zipper front, zipper pockets and zippered armpit vents (weird, but okay...). Elastic drawcords on the hood and at the waist. Wish the hood was removable, or at least had the ability to be snapped/zipped down, but I guess it’s a rain jacket, so most people would probably want a hood, since they aren’t riding at highway speeds while wearing something like this. Claims to be waterproof, and breathable, which is why it’s at the top of the rain jacket price scale. I’m very interested to see if it has the ability to keep me dry from the outside, while not sweating up everything inside. If so, it’s worth the extra money. Thin enough to take up very little space, but clearly a little tougher and heavier than the old “windbreaker” type unlined jackets. Might buy a second to keep in the car. Seems like it would also be good to keep on a lake boat in case of popups storms.
The neck 'collar' is way too big. It's extending forward from under the chin far beyond the hood and creates a huge pocket which will collect all the rainwater. It might be okay for dry weather but in the rain this collar design won't hold.
Worked in light rain- but could let hold up to extended downpour. It's nice that it's sackable and has the vent on back- bought for a vacation and will take it again. I don't think that anything would hold up to the downpour we were in to be honest so I think this worked well enough for moderate rain, super packable, and a good value
