My gelding needed a new halter, and his colors are red, white, and blue. So I saw this and it looked perfect! He has a medium/large head and the horse size fits him great! Quality is amazing. It's a very strong halter, I lunged him in it and he pulled pretty hard and it was fine. Also love the adjustments and clip!
This is my all time favorite halter, so much so, that when it was time to buy a new halter, I replaced it with another Rambo Newmarket! I tried another brand's padded halter before buying this one, and will say that the padding was not nearly as nice and it did not hold up as well. I will start off with the only thing I do NOT like about the halter, which was, it was not a break-away. Well, that is easily fixed by purchasing a Replacement Leather Safety Release for $3.95 and making it one(SmartPak sells them). With that little issue fixed, this is the best halter around. The padding on the nose piece & pole is so wide, soft and generous, and the padded cheek pieces are awesome. It ensures that your horse will be super comfy when it is on. The adjustable chin strap allows you to properly fit it as well. Levi is a 17h Appendix and the horse size fits him great. I have never washed it, so I cannot speak for how it holds up after a true wash and dry, but it survived a full winter, spring & summer of baths, mud rolls, hose offs and dry outs, brush offs, and when it started to look a little worn... it was Christmas time, and Levi got a new one in his stocking! I have attached pictures showing where the breakaway tab is placed to make the halter safer. Where we board, his halter must stay on when he is turned out during the day, as the properly is not fully enclosed, and heaven for bid he ever got loose they want halters on. We also had an incident once where he fell in a trailer, and thankfully he had a breakaway halter on, and the tab let go - So I will NEVER put a halter on him that isn't one. It is nice to know that I can buy any halter out there and make them one. Love this halter, and highly recommend it! Your horse with thank you!
I've had this halter for a few years now. I dont use it for everyday use, but it has held up nicely. It's a beautiful halter and looks great on my gelding. I like that its soft and doesnt rub. I am going to purchase another one in blue.
I needed a halter that had some soft padding for a sensitive horse, but wanted a nylon one that would hold up for washing and turnout (I have a leather one for travel, grooming, etc). I wasn't quite sure what, but was pleasantly surprised when I fitted it to my horse. The fleece is soft, and the nylon is mid-ish, but I expect it will soften with a little use.
Bought this for a horse gat has lost her breakaway halter privileges. I love the fleece lining and the solid brass hardware. My only complaints are that the nylon itself feels flimsy and the yellow stitching (on black) looks cheap. Wish they had used black thread instead. Still, for a stable halter it is nice. I know it will not rub my horse's face and it looks like it will hold up for a good, long time. It is also unique enough not to get lost in the mix. It also seems to run a little large, but my horse is large so it works for her.
I have been buying this halter for several years, and have always loved the design and functionality - they last. However, my most recent purchases were very disappointing. The halter design has changed and now only has a (poorly sewn) fleece pad over the poll. The fleece is not adjustable and is lopsided over the poll when adjusted to a horse's head. The fleece extends all the way down to the jaw on one side and rests just behind the ear on the other side of my horse's head. Unfortunately,I will not be buying these halters again.
Loved the look and style of this halter, but was disappointed that it didn't fit my 16.3 hand warmblood's big face. Sent back, bigger size would be appreciated.
I purchased this knowing of the quality of rambo blankets. This is not a bad hater at all, but was not what i expected. The hardware seems cheap and does not seem like it will hold up more than a year. It does fit well, and looks nice tho!! I do love how it looks on, tho i dont feel it is the quality of rambo.
This halter looks sooo cute on our pony. The colors of navy and red are striking and look very classy. The only gripe I've got is about the fleecy padding. While I think it's a great idea in concept to prevent rubs on the nose and poll, it is also a big catcher of hay and dirt, plus it allows our naughty pony with very small ears to rub it right off (the padding on the poll area ends up not centered, and that may be why). I've had to rescue it from the lawn, from the feed tub, from the haystack, wherever she decides it's a little itchy. He's a photo of what it looks like after she's been eating.
I always want to buy a Newmarket Halter for my horse. Finally convinced myself, but the quality of the halter is somewhat disappointing. After only two wear, the stitch at the end is already loose. And it says to be a horse size, but it is almost too big for my 16.2 TB.
