Rancho Meladuco Date Farm - "Grinders" - the Imperfect Medjool Dates, Whole Unpitted, 9 oz. Cup

I've been ordering these dates weekly for the past year or so…always arrive plump and delicious. Over the past few months I've noticed they must be popular as the store has been out of them a couple times. I'm wondering if the poor reviews are a way to decrease their popularity? Rest assured you are ordering a high quality date.

2025 me 44 my mom 77 1st time ever trying a Date! a slightly chocolatey, caramel, nutty taste and aroma. cant say its anything like i expected after all the research and opinions read about them honestly. nothing to frown at for sure and definitely something Healthy everyone should try. taste better then all the candy i just named it tastes like. my biggest disappointment about the product, is that i actually searched for dates with the pits bc i wanted to grow a few date palms in my yard. 25 pits not a single one sprouted sadly

These are by far the best quality dates I've ever had!! They taste amazing!! They're also very soft and not dried out at all unlike many brands you'll at least find a few that are. Not these!! If these are what they consider "grinders" aka imperfect then Im going to assume the ones that aren't must be some god level tier award winning dates.

Excellent Unpitted Dates! I esp like how nicely they are packaged %26 sold in a small enough amount as to not overwhelm one. Please note: They do contain pits! They would probably make a nice gift for those of us who like the taste of real dates (non-artificial). Great job Rancho Meladuco Date Farm!

These dates are delicious. They had a perfect texture and were moist and full of flavor. The dates were large and sweet and there were plenty of them. The container was packed full, which is a rarity in any food, let alone snack foods. I would definitely recommend them.

So addicting!!! They are so ripe and delicious. Sweet, gooey, almost like a caramel inside. I buy them as a treat every so often. For the price you get great quality and flavor. If you like Medjool Dates these are a great option. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Delicious almost candy

Good price, the quality varies because of the imperfections as advertised, so you will not be sure to get the same grade of dates every time you order. Imperfections do not really make the dates taste much different, maybe some are blemished or drier, smaller or juicier. Price is lower to account for that, so I have purchased them dozens of times, but I also try other lower priced dates. Packaging is good for us but some might not like the bulkiness of a cup.

I have purchased these several times and the last few times I have been disappointed in the quality, they seemed old and dried out, even though the expiration date was several weeks away... On the other hand I love dates, as they should be juicy, tender and sweet... I am elderly and handicapped and I have to order for delivery, I can't get out very much... therefore I am at the mercy of the person choosing my groceries. I get the lettuce that is picked over and turning brown, I get the can goods that are dented because nobody else will buy them, and, well, I am sure you get the idea. It is doubtfull I will continue to purchase these dates in the future and I don't expect you to publish this post as I don't want to hurt a business, just want them to address this downfall and improve for others so they will have these once tasty, juicy fruits to enjoy... So these dates say "our imperfect but delicious dates". Which I find to be an accurate statement. Always open these with your fingers before biting into them blindly. When I first started getting these I thought to myself... "Why would they call them imperfect??? They were gooey but not fermented, sweet %26 delicious. There's nothing wrong with them!" Then after getting this brand many times I've noticed occasionally there will be dates with either mold, or small worms/eggs inside. It's not super often but it does sometimes happen. I also notice sometimes a whole container is completely fine, while another one will have quite a lot of moldy or worm egg ones. I've also had sometimes where the dates were more dried out than others. The gooey-ness level varies between containers. It's a hit or miss. But most of the time these are good. Best date brand/kind available in Walmart's stores to buy.

Quality is incredibly inconsistent. When they're good, they sweet, soft, and delicious. However, when they're not, they're crusty, hard, and dry. Or they're wormy. It's unfortunate that you never know what you're going to get when you open the package. The first time that I encountered worms in the container, I emailed their customer service, who were very prompt and informative. It's food and, of course, pests happen, I understand that. They told me that the worms pose no health concern and aren't dangerous and that was fine by me. But many more purchases and several more wormy containers later is really unfortunate. Even if they're not harmful, they eat the dates and change their quality and seeing their feces stuck to the walls of the container is frankly just gross. This product just isn't worth the gamble for me anymore.
