The Rand McNally road atlas has been the best for 100 years, and with this road atlas you can travel without a GPS. While it will not guide you to an address it will take you to any city in the United States with no trouble finding it. If you are wanting to travel Venice routes, you will never find it on your phone or GPS or Garmin device. Slow down your life and don't be in such a hurry that you miss the beauty of nature.
Just what I need for traveling. Able to see the whole picture of the route and surrounding area. Traveling in areas found the phone service is spotty. And with the phone only showing a small area. Gas stations no longer carry maps. This is a must for anyone who wanders.
Although we now have travel directions on our cellphones, etc. I always need to see the larger picture; what highways we may want to consider, what places that might be interesting along the way, and this atlas allows me to do that. I am delighted with it!
This map is everything and more. No kidding that beautiful spiral laced through the durable pages make for ease of use. I love our modern technology that aids our driving. But nothing I repeat nothing will ever replace the beauty of Rand McNally map in you hands as you drive you know the alternate routes and can see ahead of time points of interest. I'm so happy to have this special edition version.
Easy to read but large and bulky. Great for planning. I'm not sure if I will take the actual map on the trip due to size. Easier to connect where I'm going on our cross country trip.
We enjoy travelling via car and needed one of these updated with all the construction going on, new roads, freeways, etc. We have GPS but this is an excellent backup plan.
That's easy - At my advanced age, I prefer to view a large paper map to plan a road trip as well as navigate during that trip. I believe it is called OLD SCHOOL. FYI - this took much longer than two minutes.
GPS is great but a real paper atlas is even better. It makes planning a trip more fun and easier. I always remember my Dad's atlas he had his exits marked that had his favorite places to eat!
spent 25.$ on this 100th anniversary Atlas. very disappointed. it looks nice but the states are all broken down into sections, which can be beneficial, but the complete map of each state should have been included. I seriously cannot use this atlas.
The large print Rand McNalley road atlas is just OK. Not great. It arrived with a bent cover, due to flimsy packaging, because that allowed the mailman to roll it up and shove it in my mailbox. And it isn't like the nice road atlas that Walmart used to sell in their stores until a couple years ago. This one is poorly designed, with states cut in half and hard to find the missing half without flipping through a lot of pages. Too many close up views of numerous cities in each state. If the product description had included pictures of sample pages from the atlas, I wouldn't have ordered this. So beware: Don't buy this unless you see sample pages first.
