Rapala 18" Retractable Fishing Lanyard

Exactly what husband was looking for. He had one and wanted another. The clip is strong and holds well to his suspenders. It draws and retracts easily. The wire is of good quality and the mechanism has never failed. Not only that, it's just a nice looking item.

They are very well made. I use 2 on my lanyard on my badges!!!

I have to wear a badge for work but hate having things strapped around my neck. These clip on retractable lanyards are perfect. Mine broke so I went to buy another and this is the only one I could find. After purchasing it, I was told I could get a 3-pk at Office Depot for the same price or less. However, this lanyard is really durable. The one I had before used plastic to attach the retractable string to the badge, which broke. Also, teh string was weaker and constantly breaking too. This product's metal clip and stronger string makes it so much better. I guarantee this product will last much longer than the cheaper versions.

The lanyard is disinged for fishing gear, but can be used for many other applications. I purchased the lanyard to hold a multifunction fishing tool onto my fishing vest. The tool is vital for fishing remote locations by yourself when all you can take with you is your rod and fishing vest. The lanyard has a small metal ring that is one single piece of metal in which the ends are butted together connecting the clip end to the retractable line. It seemed to me that this ring could possibly bend over time from pulling on the retractable line ultimately bending the ring and falling off. This would be bad if you're in the middle of nowhere and the ring bent working it's way loose dropping your fishing tool in the river never to be seen again. The simple fix for under 25 cents is to simply replace the ring with a small key ring that costs about 20 cents at any hardware store. The key ring is much stronger and won't bend. I gave this lanyard 4 stars for this reason only. The rest of the lanyard is made of quality materials.

RAPALA HAS A GREAT BRAND REPUTATION. RETRACTABLE LANYARDS CAN BE REALLY HELPFUL. EIGHTEEN INCHES IS WAY TO SHORT TO ALLOW FREEDOM OF USE.

cheap and weak... get something better.
