I purchased the fine powder and also some chunks of the same catnip. The chunks must be something else because all three of my cats went crazy when I gave each one a piece (looks like little dried dog poop) I threw it on the floor and they fell in love for about 20 minutes, then lost interest. I got out the powder rolled the chunks in it and did the same thing a couple of days later. They played a little bit - but nothing since. I put some powder in their beds and around some toys kept in a box, cats ignored it. I mixed some green regular catnip with the chunks and the powder, leaving it for a few days; I am waiting to see if that works- - turning the jar over and over, to get it mixed in; instructions said to rub small amount into fabric toy and throw it on the ground, in front of cats, nothing happened.
Regular cat nip does not work at all with them unless it is very freshly packed, old and stale does not work. I would love to grow some, but too many ferals around here. I store all treats, different types of catnip, and dry food, in glass jars with good sealing lids and seran wrap. I will keep trying different types, my cats love it when it is fresh.
When I order a new package, I open it up when it arrives and try it out to see their responses - if they go crazy, it is a keeper, if not, I return it.
