About 20 years ago (time flies, I'm getting old) I worked in a machine shop in Omaha, Nebraska. We had a roach coach guy who would bring these on his truck, and they were always my go-to. Super tasty, bought them every single time he came around. Pretty sure he was charging about a 300% markup, but hey, that's the roach coach tax and I paid it gladly. Fast forward to now, and I've discovered these are sold in stores (or maybe they always have been?). Here's the thing: they taste exactly the same. The meat that somehow doesn't actually taste like roast beef but is delicious anyway. The bread that has clearly been engineered by science to survive being frozen and then microwaved while still coming out edible. It shouldn't work, but it does. Every time. Seriously, these are top notch for what they are. No pretension, no gourmet nonsense, just a reliable, satisfying Philly cheesesteak that delivers. Buy a box, throw them in your freezer, and have them for lunch at your machine shop job. Or your office job. Or your work-from-home job. I won't judge. I'll just be over here eating one too.
Ive been eating these sandwiches for sometime now and I enjoy the taste and the fact that they are quick to prepare if your in a hurry or just want a late night snack. Unfortunately it seems that Walmart has decided to not carry them anymore. Every time I go in I make sure to see if they have been restocked but alas they haven't done that in over a month and a half at least. For anyone who enjoys these wonders where to get some go to the local Sams club and they have an abundance of them the last time i was there. I have to take the trip to get them but i dont mind because yhey are that good. Their pastrami ones are good to and the roast beef are okay but if i had a choice it would be philly first then pastrami.
I don't really care for the onions and peppers that are usually in a Philly Steak sandwich. I can add onions if I choose in the amount I want or not. I do usually add an extra slice of cheese because I'm a cheese a holic, but it isn't necessary. Great as it is and microwave good.
Man I wish I took a picture ! Definitely worth the $5 for this and I thought it would only be one so to my surprise when I saw two lol . Waiting to try the irks on beef one they have next it's always sold out and I see why because this sub is so delicious
I bought this on a whim, even with some of the not so good reviews, but I'm glad I did. When you cook it, the way it is supposed to be cooked, I found it quite tasty… I actually had my own Au jus sauce and it was delicious dip in it… Don't expect it to taste like one you would make yourself at home, but as far as a frozen, already prepared sandwich, it was pretty good… I would recommend and will definitely buy it again.
Was pleasantly suprised! I didn't microwave it, instead I grill it in a pan [seperating the meat and the bread]. I also cut the bread in half because the bread to meat ratio wasn't quite right for me. I added some japapeno peppers too. Definitely going on my list for a quick lunch sammie.
i myself have not tried them but my son tried one of the philly cheese steak but he had to put it in the air fryer cause we don't have enough counter space for our microwave if only they made these for air fryers he just stood over it and watched it but he said it was pretty good
The package comes leaning somewhat on the side frozen solid so meat is not well within the bun so tends to lean during microwave and the cheese runs out all over the wrapper making bun kinda messy. However the bun is excellent and meat fairly good. Overall a nice quick sandwich .
This one is lame, I have to say. I've ordered it twice because the price isn't too bad. But you definitely have to add your own meats to it and extra cheese. The meat is super thin and piled frozen in one spot on the bun and the cheese is very little. The meat is some kind of version of deli meat that is like Budding name brand meat.
The product doesn't look anything like the photo on the box. It has no peppers, no onions in it. I had to put A1 sauce on it to make it palatable. There's only two sandwiches are really small. I think it's more like a midnight snack type thing but it's not worth the money I spent on it. There's hardly any beef like two slices and they're pressed together like something that comes out of a processed beef thing and it's got bone fragments in it so to be honest with you I don't think so. It's not worth it. Let's see how the other ones taste. I don't know, but this definitely not worth the money.
