I have looked at and used many different head/strap type lights and this one is the most compact with the best performance and takes being thrown around into my tool bag without breaking.
Wow! This thing is extremely bright compared to others I've bought in the past, but this Rayovac one is heavier than the ones I've bought from other brands. This doesn't have the cushion that sits on your forehead, but the strap is soft that touches your forehead. The battery cover is very hard to open and close, but it is tight with the 2 rubber seals. Hope my battery door tab doesn't break off like other reviews have stated. The picture on Walmart shows it has the top strap over your head, but mine doesn't have it and the picture on the back of the package doesn't show it either. It is comfortable even without that top strap, so that may work out not having it. The headband adjustment seemed loose at first when I took it out of the package, but after putting it on, it seems very secure. Other ones I've had in the past are either too tight or too loose on my head. I love that this one came with batteries. The angle adjustment is very hard to move, but that could be a good thing in the long run. With it on my head and turned on, you can hear it buzzing/humming sound on high and low. Not sure if that's ok or a bad thing. I'll see how it holds up over time. So far, so good. Seems to be built well.
i bought 2! one with 4 little white leds and a cree led powered single bulb version headlight. after a while of opening and closing both battery covers snap tabs broke :( would be nice if they sell replacements or a different easier design! hoping for a design change my finger tips hurt after opening multiple times, also the swivel isn't smooth!
Have only changed the batteries one time. Noticed that one of the battery cover tabs is already broken.
light casing for 3 aaa batteris will not open...terrible engineering!
