This Razor A5 Lux Kick Scooter was really simple to put together right out of the box. The frame feels solid and well-built... the main body and handlebar are made of sturdy aluminum, which keeps it lightweight but strong. The large 8-inch wheels are made of durable urethane and roll smoothly over sidewalks and pavement, making the ride very stable whether you're a kid or an adult. It feels steady and comfortable even at higher speeds, and the foldable design makes it easy to carry or store. The grip on the deck and handlebars is secure, and it's designed mainly for riding on paved surfaces. Great choice for anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use scooter!
My daughter is about to turn 9 years old. We tried the basic Razor A. She is simply too tall at 4'4. Which means that initial price of $45-$60 just jumped to $100-$129. Just like anything else in life you gotta pay to play.
I (now) have 5 different versions of this scooter. Yep, you read that right! I have the Shining Red A5 (bought in 2010), the Caribbean Blue A5 (bought in 2014), and the Carbon Black A5, Black Label A5 (Special Limited Edition), and now this Galaxy Pink A5 (all 3 bought this year!) This new Galaxy Pink A5 Lux (my special nickname for it) continues to prove the awesome quality from Razor, just like the one I bought before it. The ride is nice and smooth, thanks to the 'adult' wheels, the chassis is low-slung for better cornering (the Carbon Black rides higher), and......well...... JUST GET ONE. Your kids will LOVE it. YOU will LOVE it. You will STEAL IT BACK from your kids, given how much fun you're having with it! And just a little obvious advice: treat this scooter with kindness, and it will pay you back GENEROUSLY. Have babied my Shining Red A5 from 2010, and to this day, my SR A5 rides just as good, if not BETTER, than the rest of my fleet. Keep in mind, the A5 Lux is a cruiser, meaning you get on it and go. It is NOT designed for tricks.....although you can try! I DIDN'T. BUY ONE. HAVE FUN. And most of all, BE SAFE!!
We bought another! 3 months ago we bought both a model A4 and this model A5. We wanted a third scooter and the kids absolutely preferred the A5. The bigger wheels go faster with less effort, and are easier to handle on curbs and sidewalks. The bigger board is nice for big feet. The kickstand means it won't be sprawled across the garage floor. Nice color selections.
This scooter is THE BEST! It is so easy to put together. I'm 10 and I built it in 2 minutes! Here is a tip, when you are going down a hill fast don't press down on the break really hard or the back wheel will stop completely, and your front wheel will keep going. Then the scooter will slide and it will be very hard to control.
I'm a college student. My classes are literally in both extremes of my campus, so walking was always something I stressed over because I didn't want to be late to my classes. Also, at the end of the day, walking to my parking lot was the last thing I was physically and mentally up for. SO, bam, I thought "why not buy a scooter?". This little gem came up in my search results, and I just HAD to have it, Walmart is literally the go-to place to buy this scooter. You won't find a better price! Thank goodness I found it on the Walmart site, too. This scooter is selling for $100+ everywhere else! Amazingly smooth ride, and you can thank the giant wheels for that. Reaches some unbelievable speed. Super easy to fold, and really light to carry. I honestly thought it'd weigh more, but it's surprisingly light, and a piece of cake to carry through and up buildings. And of course- it's beautifully built. It's seriously such a good looking scooter. I'm a gal, but I've seen guys ride this exact same scooter around, so it's basically the must-have, college student scooter. No doubt. Get it, you will not regret it.
Got it for my son's 6th birthday. He loved it right out of the box. It's light and fast. The big wheels are it's best future. It adjusts in seconds for me to enjoy it too. I'm thinking of getting one for myself and my husband so we can all enjoy the ride together. The delivery arrived one day late. Delivered on day 4 from the time I placed the order on line. Still great timing for free delivery. If I had to go back in time, I'd make the same choice.
This is a great scooter for sidewalk and street. It also is good in a skate board park. My six year old nephew loves it because of the big wheels and is more sturdy than the scooters with smallers wheels. I am a mature adult (71 yo and weigh 230#) and I use it for short trips to the store or coffee shop. It crosses trolley tracks safely and handles sidewalk cracks well as long as the handles are firmly gripped. An excellent value.
I bought this for my 5 year old son. To my surprise, he can ride the scooter with out any difficulty! He has no problem riding over sidewalk cracks or bumps from uneven pavement. He literally glides around on it. My son is 3 feet 9 inches tall and it is the perfect height. I pulled the scooter out of the box, followed the instructions and my son started riding on it immediately. There is no assembly or any tools needed. It does fold in half for small storage. The kickstand doses hold up the scooter. My son will have this for many years. As he grows, I can adjust the handle bars to accommodate his height. I am extremely happy with his scooter and would recommend this to anyone!
Bought for 10 year old grandson. He said he loves it and would give it 4.5 stars. He said it would be 5 stars except that even with the bigger wheels, it still has problems on a broken asphalt part of their drive. He's a tough judge here. The cars have problems with that part of the driveway!
