An Awesome Spectacular Ride!!!

Juniper September 21, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 9 year old has used her friend's Ripstik so thought it was time for her to have her own and she totally loves it! And what's even more awesome than a regular Ripstik dlx mini? A Ripstik dlx mini that creates the most amazing lightshow! The Lightshow Ripstik has 5 different programmed led patterns to choose from on the main board plus the wheels light up as well! The board's designed for the led lights to be seen both from above as well as eliminate the pavement below so it really is a spectacular lightshow! The lights are extremely vivid, bright and turn on based on motion so no need to worry about drained batteries since the board turns off automatically when not in use. The castor board itself is extremely well constructed, the middle joint is the perfect for tautness allowing for tight control and the wheels provide a silky smooth ride. The mini's smaller size is perfect for her narrower stance yet will still be a great ride for years to come. If you are looking for the perfect gift for an adventurous active kid, teen or even adult, you have totally found it! The Lightshow lives up to its name and receives 4 thumbs up from both me and my kiddo!

Lots of fun!

JasonY September 23, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Ripstik is alot of fun for a large variety ot ages. This riptide does take alot of practice and a good amount of balance to have a successful ride. My son is 10 years old and loves to take on a challenge like the ripstik. The ripstick lights up and changes colors as you rude which is fun to watch durring the day and at night. The wheels glide smoothly in any directions you are leaning into. My son spent a whole day practice and balance on the board before taking it out for a spin. After a full day of practice my son had had the balance and technique all figured out. Its a great quality rio stick that can hold an adult or child with no problem.

Awesome board

StacyP October 6, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves this board!! No he's not experienced in anyway. But he is getting better at it for sure. Ripsticks are different from any skateboard I knew of. They come out with anything. My kid loves it and wants more. The lights are awesome. The board and wheels light up on it.

Great quality and well lit for night use!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this RipStik for my two young boys to use and they both absolutely love it. Both are avid skateboard riders so picking up the ability to ride a RipStik was second nature to them. What I love about it is the integrated lights that surround the board. Cars traveling on our street at dusk\dark can easily see them via the bright integrated lightshow. My boys are getting hours of fun out of this new RipStik I only have one problem, I need to buy a second now!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this a few months ago and I kept it hid from my son because I knew his birthday was coming up, so I was using it for a gift. Oh my goodness this kid loves this ripstik. I get home from work and he's on the ripstik. My 11 yr old boy is pretty rough and this thing has withstood his craziness. He really loves how the wheels light up, they are really cool at night. He rides this board all the time.

So cool!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The lights are super bright which is great when we go to take our nightly family walks. The bright lights help my son see where he is going as well. The switch is easy to find to turn the lights on and if they go out it is just a tap away from them coming back on. It is a wonderful addition for any kid wanting to ride around.

Sons favorite

SantanaL August 25, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 8 year old son absolutely loves this thing! It's his new favorite and go to thing to do. It's a great activity to keep him moving and outdoors. It did take a lot of skill for him to learn how to get going so I wouldn't recommend it for younger kids. The lights on it are pretty and where definitely a hit with my kiddo.

Excellent RipStik, just needs a few tweaks

MajorMelon October 23, 2021

I find the RipStik DLX Mini Lightshow to be an excellent RipStik for the more technical rider, featuring a lighter, shorter, more aggressively concave deck, and a much appreciated improved grip surface on the deck in comparison to the classic RipStik. The deck offers much more grip compared to any other RipStik I have ever ridden, and I greatly appreciate this improvement. I found my natural foot position on the board is already setup to pop the board up, which, while slightly less comfortable and stable for cruising, is much appreciated when attempting tricks. As other reviewers have mentioned, this board is aptly named the Lightshow. The LEDs in the deck and the wheels provide a stunning display when riding at dusk and after dark, and are a legitimate safety feature due to the increased visibility to cars and other people. However, after a few hours of riding, I have found a few minor issues: - - There is a minor design flaw with the battery compartment: I discovered the lights seemed to always switch back to the default rapid strobe setting as I was riding, making it impossible to utilize the other 4 settings. Being an engineer, I investigated this curious behavior, and found that the problem is caused by acceleration along the longitudinal access of the board (ie rapid starts or stops) causing the batteries to momentarily be thrown off their terminals against the rather weak pigtail springs in the battery compartment, momentarily disrupting power to the system and causing the LEDs to be reset to the default first setting of rapidly strobing colors. I fixed this problem by making some "spacer pads" out of aluminum foil to increase the tension on the batteries and prevent them from sliding off the terminals under acceleration, and I can now enjoy all the light settings even when doing tricks (I will upload a picture of my rather kludgy but effective fix). While I have solved this problem, Razor should seriously consider putting stronger pigtail springs in the battery compartment and/or shortening the battery compartment to hold the batteries more tightly. It's a very cheap, simple fix that would probably save a lot of people a lot of annoyance and confusion. - - The screws used on this RipStik seem to be of extraordinarily soft metal. I slightly stripped the screws of the battery compartment with gentle use of a hand screw driver when making the aforementioned fix, and the heads of one of the screws on the bottom of the deck is already been partially abraded away from a couple of slides on concrete. - - I might need to fit this RipStik with a tail guard. After only a few hours of use, the tail is already showing significant wear and tear. I have not had this issue with the RipStik Classic, although I am not sure if this is a result of the Mini Lightshow being much easier to pop up, or if the Classic is simply more durable. Please note, I am a serious adult rider (5'9", 140 lbs) with 13 years of RipStik experience, and as such, I probably put forces on my RipStiks far beyond what your average rider will, so the aforementioned problems may be nonissues many customers. All in all, I very much enjoy riding my RipStik DLX Mini Lightshow, and it definitely has some advantages over the classic RipStik. If Razor fixed any one of the aforementioned issues, I would give the RipStik DLX Mini Lightshow an unequivocal 5 stars.

Was super excited to try the lightshow!

Alexandra ND August 26, 2021

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was beyond excited to get this Razor RipStik DLX Mini with the lightshow lights because everyone in my household lives for awesome toys that have really great light effects! I honestly appreciated how well it was packaged so that no damage could happen to the RipStik and also how quickly it arrived to my home. The RipStik was also very easy to remove from the actual box that it comes in. There was nothing too hard to do. Just need a pair of scissors for a few seconds & your done. The RipStik itself is made pretty well and glides nice and smoothly across the ground with the castor wheels it has. The wheels are put on the Ripstik really nice & secure as well. They've done a great job with them & just the overall construction of the RipStik itself. The weight limit was nice as well because it gives kids of all sizes the chance to have an awesome RipStik that's made for them. I honestly was most tickled about how cool the lightshow lights were going to be. I feel like for them to be doing something like this, they should've made it so that the lights don't turn off while you're riding the RipStik. The lights come on and either flash fast or slow and it cycles through some colors then after a minute or so they turn off and you gotta lift your foot off & back on the Ripstik to turn them back. I feel like they could've made the lights to where they could be programmed to a specific color or flashing pattern. If they even want the lights to flash at all. My youngest wanted to keep it on one color, another said to let it connect to their phone through an app so they can program the lights and also let them be programmed to flash to the beat of music that's playing on the phone. Other than that, they have a wonderful selection of colors that they used in the lightshow lights and the lights are made into the RipStik super well! They do not look a bit like they will be broken easily. They're embedded into the flat parts on top and they're flat so there's nothing you can stomp on and break. So far my family likes it and we recommend it for your family. We definitely say this is not a toy for young children. You have to be an experienced skateboarder or even surfer or snowboarder to be able to ride this product. Also, it's nothing like a hoverboard! And please have your helmet on & other gear if you feel you need it!
