I picked this up for my mother in law to give to my 72 year old father in law. We set it up for him and he got it for christmas. He LOVES it. I called to say merry christmas and I couldn't get it out. He was raving about it and was asking what he could do with it. Next week when we're in town I will get it on the net for him. So far he loves it!
You have to be careful with how may apps you put on the table and the size of the apps. If loaded down it will freeze up. Not a good table it you want a lot of programs on it. But if you just want a simple tablet and don't need to download a bunch of apps, it is great. It is SD card compatible -- you can transfer apps to the SD card. I suggest getting an SD card with this tablet. It will save space and not overload your tablet.
This is an awesome little tablet that does a lot for me. *watch little movie *easy to carry (Starbucks, etc...) *read books (NWT, magazines, ...) and downloading books that and it can highlight on ur book. *write little comments *good for some games (Disney Tsum tsum is my favorite) Etc...
After spending quite a bit on the technology needs of my two adult children, I was hesitant to fork over close to another $200 for a gaming platform for my school-age child. Knowing that he loves to play free games on my cell phone, I decided to get him his very own tablet so he could download all his favorite flash games for android and this RCA Voyager tablet has so far been a great value for such a low price. It's the same size as my 4 year old Google Nexus pad but $250 cheaper and four times as fast. And it can be charged two ways, either with the included AC adapter or via the mini usb port. It charged up nicely on a recent car trip using a charging port with a cigarette lighter adapter. The only slight downsides: some server-side gaming platforms such as Roblox run laggy on it (on our home Comcast network). Also since it has a quad-core processor it uses up battery quickly (100% down to 20% in approximately 3 hours, give or take).
I bought this tablet on sale and I wish I had bought more! Some of the PROS of this tablet are it has Bluetooth, Wifi, Memory expansion slot, Android 6 operating system and a nice size. At 7 inches it is the perfect size to take on the go. It is a little thicker than some of the more expensive tablets on the market but because of this it seems more durable especially for kids. The apps and games seem to run smoothly and the colours are good on screen. The wifi connects easily and seems fast, no lag so far. Connecting to the google play store to download apps is easy and it comes preloaded with Youtube, GooglePlay and Apps to play videos, music and store photos. The only 2 CONS I would say about this tablet is that it only has 1 camera in the front and that the speaker is located in the back. Having the speaker in the back is a bit ackward if the tablet is on a flat surface, but the volume does go to a fairly loud level so it can still be heard quite easily even when flat.
I bought this on sale and it was well worth the money. Although I bought it for myself my 6 year old granddaughter seems to get a lot of use out of it too, so it is a very good option for children. My only complaints are that the battery drains very quickly, and there is no rear facing camera so you can only take selfies, which is a big drawback as far as I am concerned. But overall I would certainly purchase it again.
I purchased two of these units at the same time. One functioned properly and the other did not work. I returned it for another. The exchanged unit works properly. So far, both units are still working as they should. They are worth what was paid for the units. The only reason I am rating it three stars is because one of the original units was defective.
I was disappointed from the start as the RD card is a read only system so I ran out of room just installing the apps not even able to run basic programs and the battery died. So I used it as a reader only. After three months it would no longer charge with USB cable so went to dc charger it lasted a week that way. Now I have a paperweight as the hassle of paying for shipping and waiting would be more aggravating.
I read almost all the reviews on the website before I decided to purchase this tablet. I read a lot of positive and a lot of negative reviews but just hoped for the best. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TABLET. It is incredibly slow and the battery dies quickly. Within five minutes the battery dropped 14 percent. I returned it after a day. I recommend going with something else, especially from a different brand.
We got this for my son to do his math an reading programs unfortunately it won't stay connected to wifi long enough to even get logged in. Very disappointed in this product! Would not recommend it to anyone!
