Very good press
I have several. For the money they have no peer.
I started reloading in 1975, using a RCBS Junior press because that is what I could afford. I've resized many large rifle cases with much downward force, but it worked. Today, I can afford an upgrade like the Rock Chucker Supreme. I have always wanted one. Now I have it. I'm thankful that RCBS kept this product for so many years.
The construction is very solid and operation is extremely smooth. This Rock Chucker Supreme is definitely engineered with precision. Compared to an entry-level unnamed brand, this press doesn't have a shakiness or flimsy feel, and the price is reasonable.
Went to this heavier duty press because my old RCBS press had clearance issues with a new setup I was doing. Specifically the ram action. Needed to get the press closer to the bench than my old press would go. The press fits nicely and is extremely stable. Good press!! Thank you RCBS for your appreciation to the military as well.
The Rock Chucker is by far the best single stage press on the market for the money. Bar NONE!!! It is great as a beginner press or for the competitive shooter or the Long Distance Shooter! You are only limited my the reloaders knowledge of our hobby!!!! You will never be disappointed by it's performance!! Plus it is backed by RCBS's "NO BS WARRENTY" for life!!!
I've had my Rock Chucker for so long, I don't even remember when I bought it, but it's been at least 25 years. I've used it as a go to for all of my reloading projects from .32 all the way up to some JDJ wildcats. The simplicity of the Rock Chucker is genius, and the forging will withstand anything I've ever used to abuse. I have other presses, but the Rock Chucker is the gold standard. Beyond the versatility and strength of the Rock Chucker, the materials used in the construction are top notch. All of my years and many tens of thousands of loads, not a speck of rust anywhere. The actions is smooth as it was, maybe even smoother then the day I bought it.
I received the Rock Chucker Supreme Press but have not had time to completely go through the reloading process yet. Prior to receiving the new equipment, I have a RC II that I used for a very long time until it worn causing excessive runout when resizing rifle brass. However, I have been able to run some resized brass back through the same die in the RCSP, so far it has made a BIG difference. Some of the brass had .004” to .006” runout and now has .0005” to .001”. I can't wait to reload from start to finish and write another review about the complete process and experience. I may try making a short video going through the complete process with photos of shot groups.
It's a good press but frankly, I don't feel it is any better than my old RCBS Junior. I had to replace the old press after only 300,000 thousand rounds were created on it. RCBS products have always been my goto for anything reloading. After I got this new Rockchuker I still had to buy a way to handle more than one primer at a time and a better way to get rid of the old primers and RCBS has good cures for this as well. I've only had a chance to load about 500 rounds so far but everything works great!
this press has broken 2 pins in 6 months at the bottom of the ram. yes RCBS makes it god but haven't sent me a press so they can see what is going on with this one. if the give me a new press and it doesn't break the pins Ill keep it if not no more RCBS for me
