RDS Manufacturing 71804 Rectangular Auxiliary and Transfer Liquid Tank - 37 Gallon Capacity

Added to a 2010 Dodge Ram 2500. I am not handy so a local diesel shop did the install charging 2 hours labor. The tank works well and seems very well made. It fits under my metal roll top cover. I had a spill in the bed of my truck when I completely filled it, fuel must have come out through the cap. Only fill to below the fuel fill tube to avoid this.

This fuel tank is great. It fits right under my the box for my bed cover roll top and gives it doubles the amount of fuel on board allowing me to drive twice a far with less stops to refuel and on a long trip that is a great option. It is well constructed, comes with a locking cap and fuel gauge. I would recommend this tank.

Tank arrived in about two weeks and was in excellent shape. It fits perfectly in front of my fifth wheel hitch and sits flush to the front of my bed. It's light and easy to move / install and looks great as well. I looked at all manner of aux tanks and this was by far the best value.

I gave it 5 stars because this tank is exactly what it says. The tabs are a little different but I just strap it down anyway, because when I don't use it I can take it out and put it in my garage. It is well made and holds 35-37 gal. Thanks RDS and Northern.

This tank fits perfect under my roll-n-lock in my 2014 short bed Ram 2500 and in front of my fifth wheel hitch rails. When towing my 38' fifth wheel, gas stops can be stressful, so I invested I this tank. Let me tell you, its great so far. As long as you install it with the kit exactly as described the gravity feed works perfect. I can leave the valve open the whole time and never get leaks. I chose not to bolt down the tank - used 5000 lb ratchet straps instead so I can remove when wanting to actually use my bed when not towing. Yes, it is a 37 gallon tank, and it seems I got about 35 gallons to feed to my truck. I guess if I left the truck on an angle I could get the rest out, but in the scheme of things, what's 2 gallons. Highly recommended - took about 2.5 hrs to install the kit portion, but only about 1 hr for the actual tank.

PRO: Installed relatively easily beneath my toolbox on my F-350 with 3 drilled boltholes and one 1/2 inch hole for the fuel line - didn't have a rubber grommet so wrapped line in thick duct tape to hinder wear. Pumped 25 gallons in (about the capacity to the bottom of the filler neck) and no apparent leaks. So far so good - this tank will more than double the cap of the OEM tank. CON: I noticed some aluminum particles dancing in the diesel when I shined a flashlight into the filler neck; manufacturing detritus??? I considered flushing the tank - hope my fuel filter will remove them!

I purchased this tank and the diesel fuel neck installation kit several years ago, and mounted it in my F350-pickup box. It fits under my roll-n-lock box and makes good use of the space, The fuel guage on the tank is a very handy plus. If I am pulling a heavy trailer, I wait until I am between 3/4 and 1/2 on the main tank and stop for a quick break and open the fuel valve. It then flows into the main tank at a rate that keeps up with the fuel consumption and provides a long day's driving range for me. I love not having to hunt for fuel all the time and filling up one time per day. When solo, the truck can go so far you can choose if and when you ever need to add fuel and hit the low prices identified by internet.

Fast shipping good quality only exception is fuel gauge doesn't work correctly. I put 20 gallons in before gauge even moved seems to do the same when tank is drained. I purchased this tank because it was the only one that offered a fuel gauge. I would have purchased larger tank but it wasn't offered with a fuel gauge. Now I have the smaller tank with a bad gauge. Don't purchase based on fuel gauge.
