RDS MFG INC - 71790 Liquid Transfer Tank 91Gal

Bought this tank for total different purpose, but was surprised how well set up this unit is for use as an auxiliary fuel tank for pickup to mid sized truck.

Bought this for a specific setup on our 3500 Rams. Worked great.

We have several of these tanks in use and they work great!

When we needed a fuel tank, Northern Tool was our 1st choice to purchase. We went to the store and the store attendant met us at the door and was extremely helpful in answering our questions and putting in our order. It was a piece of cake getting it all ordered and finding the accessories for hooking up our tank. They sent emails on the arrival of the tank and everything came on time. Thanks for all the help. We bought 2 of these to store regular and premium gas for the new shop we are building. They are light enough (when empty) for 1 guy to move. Welds look good. We also bought 12volt pumps and they fit just fine. We are a small construction company so we don't go through a ton of gas for equipment, but hauling 5 gal cans gets old.

Tank came in when expected, very easy to set up with plumbing. Had this tank set up and mounted to the truck within one day.

The tank is very rugid and durable. I have had for several years with no leaks.

I ordered this tank to use as a transfer tank in a work truck . This tank looks like it is very well designed except for one thing. I would give it five stars except for the mounting brackets. The description shows the attached angle brackets and says they are 2" angle, they are only 1 inch angle 2 inches long. I have an older aluminum tank that the small angle brackets broke off of after a couple of years leaving the tank unsecured, and I think this one would do the same. We had a piece of 1/8th inch aluminum bent to strap it down.This tank uses an automotive style cap with a separate vent line so it can be plumbed out of the way and not spill in the back of the truck. The only other thing we have noticed is that one side of the tank is almost 1/2 an inch taller than the other side.

Very nice tank and was well constructed, welds are very nice and looks to be a nice tank overall . Only grip I have with it is I feel like I was sold a scratch and dent model but charged regular price . When received the tank had lots of scratches in it and looked like it was pushed across the parking lot or fell off the truck and it would have helped if it was prepared for shipping more than just a couple straps around the tank and strapped to a skid , I guess I just expected a little more for what I had to pay .
