The product arrived in the time specified. The installation was very easy about 45 minutes; the only delay was double checking where the bolts were coming through the body so as not to hit a support bar. The instruction's were easy to read, how to install into the truck fuel line was spot on. The only thing it didn't mention was about the vent weather to leave open or cap it? I have taken two trips since I installed teh tank both about 1000 miles and it's been great not having to refuel. It was also great not having to pay the higher price for fuel where I went also. The only negitive I have is back to the vent since it didn't say anything about open or close I left the cap on and when it heated up outside the fuel came out of the truck overflow so I put a hose on the fitting and now its vented to atmosphere.
Had purchased a 48 gallon tank and have used it about four years pulling a 38 foot toy hauler with a one ton dodge dully it loves to eat fuel. Planning a trip to Alaska in 2018 this larger tank will come in handy. It looks great extent quality
very well built. i have bought 2 of these for auxillary gravity flow tanks in our trucks for transporting..one two years ago and this one. we have ran over 25000 gallons of diesel through the first one and it is doing well..
I have a short bed 2019 f250 and if it's perfectly in front of the wheel wells.
I bought the tank before my wife and I took a 2200 mile trip to the Florida Keys. I installed the tank in less than a half hour. The tank paid for it self in the first month I had it. At the time of the trip the price of diesel was climbing daily. My Dodge duelly don't even know it in the back. Sence then I have used it to fuel all of my diesel equipment. I do think that the baffels should be larger because, with that much fuel in it, it shakes the truck when you come to a stop. Other than that its a great tank.
I bought this tank along with the connection line and valve for installation on my 1999 ford F250 Super Duty pick up. I use this truck to pull my fifth wheel trailer. This tank has been in service (at the time of writing this review) about a month. So I have used it enough to juge the performance of this set up offered by northern tool. I find it to be as advertized... The tank looks good, seems to be very well constructed and the automatic shut off valve that installs in the fuel filler pipe of the truck has never overfilled. I shopped for this tank before I bought and did not find a compairable tank of this quality for less... I am very satisfied with this purchase...
Just got finished mounting this tank in a 94 K2500 extended cab short bed truck. It fit perfectly even though I had a bed-liner. This tank is a thing of beauty so it's a shame that I have a camper shell and it can't be seen. Custom fabricated a filler neck that allows me to fill it from the outside. Along with the RDS filler attachment it has performed exactly as designed. Since my year model truck was not listed I just got the 2" connector and it worked fine even though it was a bit of a tight area to work in. Had been looking at doing this for quite some time so when NT had this one on sale with a gift card to boot the price could not be beat, by anyone. Overall the install was pretty straight forward with no real surprises as there are plenty of YouTube videos out there showing how it's done. Shipping is direct from the factory and was pretty quick, even though it was around the holidays. Strapped to a pallet it is bulky but easily handled with a hand truck as I ordered it without lift-gate service.
We haven't put any fuel in it yet, but the tank looks nice and well built. The tank was easy to mount in the truck with the included hardware. There was a large piece of metal in the tank that we were able to get out with a long claw pickup tool.
I received this tank last Friday and installed it myself in about an hour on Saturday. I have filled it 2 times this week & it works great. I intalled it with the gravity feed kit from Northern Tool & all works well without overfill leaking issues. The tank was not shipped in the time lines represented but Ray at RDS was most instrrumental in rectifying this, and the tank had no paperwork or owners manuals with it.
I use this to store BIODIESEL in my truck. Its a good tank and I have not had any Issues with it. The only problem is no cleanout. Made some bad fuel and neeed to clean it. BIG job beacuse of no cleanout access. but that was my fault
