What a blessing!! Makes putting on compression socks SO MUCH EASIER! My husband cannot beck his ankle; so the "pivot" on the sock aid device has been very beneficial in helping him get his socks on by himself!
Tool for removing socks was good. Maybe my feet are big, but difficult to push foot all the way through cone before pulling up sock. Once my heel was through the pulling up went much better than what I could have done by myself. Plastic was a bit flimsy - I was afraid of breaking it if I used too much pressure as it was bending a fair amount.
I am very happy with the long shoehorn and the hook, but I have never seen a sock big enough to fit onto the sock device. That said, the parts are well made and sturdy, and I am keeping my purchase. I bought the kit because I was having a hip replacement, and the parts I can use have been excellent in helping me dress and undress.
Very well made but I could not get my compression socks on device
There's a reason why they demonstrate this with an short and very loose knit stocking...it doesn't work with compression stockings!. I 'm a 60 year old male and I tried with all my might to pull the stocking over the plastic piece. There was NO WAY it was going on because it's way too wide and rigid. My guess is this item has a very high return rate.
Assembly was easy, however this product just didn't work well for thigh-high compression socks. I believe this is meant for compression socks that don't extend beyond the calf. The materials are too flimsy and will break over time. (However, using this product to put on regular socks would work very well for those with mobility issues.) By the time I managed to get one of the compression hose onto my husband's leg, I literally got a workout and barely got one sock onto my husband's leg. The second sock was put on manually - which was also an effort - therefore, this product didn't really work as intended for our purpose. As a result, I wouldn't recommend this product for those who need something to put on “thigh-high compression socks.” For calf-high compression socks, these probably would work well. Despite the thick plastic this device is made of, I still think using this to apply compression socks over time would cause the materials to wear-out and break over time. Had this device been made from durable (and thinner) stainless steel (instead of plastic), — with the sides reaching above the knee — I do believe this device would work very well for thigh-high compression hose, although, I'd imagine it would be prohibitively expensive for most. As it is, this plastic device was quite expensive already.
do mot work well for compression socks. that was the one thing i wanted it to do. not strong enough.
