for my granddaughter 8yrs old fit perfect. slim M worked perfectly for her.
These shorts were not what I was expecting. I bought them for my 9 year old granddaughter to wear for practicing softball, riding her bike and to wear with her swim suits. I was looking for something like a "swimsuit - type" material. I thought since this indicated it had "spandex" in it, that these would be like that; but they were basically just a really thin cotton. I needed the shorts to be "moisture-wicking" and fast drying. That is not what they are. The colors are nice; but even though they are called "bike shorts", they don't work well for bike-riding. They tend to ride up. I did find another brand on the Walmart site that was what I was looking for.
